    ABC Scholar Anyone?

Hello community, I would like to ask any scholars out there, like me, that is ABC?
(ABC=always be casting) in dungeon. Wether if it low to high level dungeon, guildhest to trials, I'm always in cleric stance and my trustee fairy Eos can solo heal the entire group, while I'm the 4th dps to help the group run faster. I never ever just stand here waiting for tank or dps Hp to drop and then pop heal, yawn, but I place my faerie and tossed out my dots, bane and lustrate! It's so fun not only to help out the group but also dish out damages. I always have something to do which make scholars the best hybrid healer to date for me. So anyone here is an ABC scholars?!?! Speak Up please

Ps: I'm new to the forum

You just described 90% of all SCHs and 100% what SCHs should be.

A SCH should be the most active player in the party in terms of APM, so yes. Microing one's fairy with no downtime, healing/DPSing with no downtime - doing something all the time. I see a lot of idle scholars who don't do anything when healing is not necessary, so I would disagree with the person above me about the quantity of the more active SCHs, but I do also agree with them in that that is what a SCH should aim to be. x)

It's unfortunately true that there are a lot of SCHs as well as WHMs who skate by while doing the absolute minimum, but yes, a SCH should always be doing something. With Lustrate off GCD, Galvanize effects tied to Adlo and Succor, and the fairy having her own CDs, SCHs have a lot of freedom.

WHMs sometimes have to be more conscious of when they use their GCDs, but watching either healer stand around simply waiting to heal when continuous healing is not required is pretty painful.

I wholeheartedly agreed with this. Sometimes, when I ran dungeon and other people see me dpsing, they would told me to STOP and just focus solely on healing! I mean seriously? No one is dying on my watch plus i can even make the run faster by dpsing. People just don't see the full potential of scholars. Yes we are a healer class but we can DPS too, which make us one of the first true hybrid class in game.

The only time I'm not an ABC scholar is in ST. Yes I'm ashamed to say it.

ABC SCH I like that. I've played SCH for quite sometime now (main class) I was formerly a WHM , and I can say dpsing is kind of hard due to MP management but that also depends on the dungeon as well. As SCH I have my healing hot bar which is 1 and my dps+ lustrate hotbar which is 2 I simultaneously go back from cleric and non cleric pending the situation. I love having WHM in the party as I see myself as a back up healer

The only place I find it hard to dps due to mp management is Second Coil because the accuracy cap is a lot higher. When you miss your DoT 3 times in a row, it does hurt your mp.

There's a certain point where SCH DPS is negligible.

So, no. It's not always necessary.

Firstly, welcome to the forum! o/

I hope to become confident enough at Scholar that I'll always be casting. Right now I'm not (I'm new to it and it's so different from White Mage!) so I'd rather be ready for anything and focused on healing. I'm much more confident as a WHM, so will DPS when I can, if MP is alright and if it's appropriate for the fight. In my opinion, how comfortable you feel in the fight is what it comes down to; you're a healer first and foremost, but if you have the fight under control, DPS away! It's super annoying when people tell us to stop throwing out damage. ^^'
