I stopped playing because pf sucks it can take some times 2 or more hours to make a pt and df sucks because ppl cant work together and win which is not hard and they wipe so many times like its a joke and they don't care or rage quit and leave so like titan ex yes I am still on this on why I spend over an hour to get in and either 10 min in wipe and some one rage quit or it takers an hour and same result. statics suck there is no feature to use in game to join one for example for me I cant play from hours 8:30pm-1pm next day and can play 1pm sat and on sunday any time I work over nights but I cant find a static that can work with me weather its on na server or eu It feels like I am paying cod 2 with 5-14 year olds whom are fouled mouthed/entitled ex viop/player cards showing eith racial/xxx type pic/words if you know what I mean it is these type of toxic ppl that make the game not fun for me back in 14 v1 the game was broken but had a great community where ppl had to form like a 16-24 man pt just to kill the super tough hmn's while it lacked content it was fun ppl worked together unlike it is now I am waiting for expansion to come and hopfully the kids parents wont buy it for them and then it will be better and hopfully se fixes core problem like pf/dp make it easier to create of find a static because waiting 30 min to only go to 80 min or t-5 pt 20 min left and the whole time ppl join and leaves on pf then have to renew it for another 60 just only have the same outcome. sry for the run on sentence/ not properly formed sentences I am at work and don't have time to edit I have 19 hours of work each and evey day that I have to get done in 8

It's 100% grinding there are other newer games with little or no wait times for instant gratification. Free to play FFXIV is coming.

That's because the scenario themselves where instant death:

Dynamis-Jeuno: If your Thief failed the AH pull, alliance wiped.
Dynamis-Beaucedine: If anyone even moved a step the wrong way when you would pull Angra Mainyu with his dragon buddies, alliance wiped.
Dynamis-Xarcabard: If Dynamis Lord would resist more than one stun, alliance wiped.
Any Dynamis with a Summoner NM: Bard forgot to reapply sleep? Astral Flow, alliance wiped.

If anything, this game instant can easily be more controlled than the one in Dynamis so your comparison falls flat.

People said the same things you did during beta, that it wouldn't last more than a few months before free to play. Yet here we are, with an expansion on the way and the game still going pretty strong. But you don't really care about that, do you ? You'd rather use the forum, a place where <1% of the people even post, where a few people agrees with your views (based on nothing more than their own anecdotal evidences) and where some disagrees with you as a form of argument (again with anecdotal evidences) as to why the game is going to go F2P. Truth is, you don't have the data, I don't have the data but one thing is certain, the game isn't dying by any stretch of the imagination.

Edit: Oh yeah, inb4 I get called FFXIV Apologist, Square Enix White Knight, etc

Doesn't matter how long it takes this game is dying and most people are too far down the rabbit burrow to see it. People don't want to pay for 7/10 unhappiness. It will still go on maybe get better I hope it does but by then many would have left with no hope of coming back.

Based on what data do you make these claims ? I hope it's something else than your own anecdotal evidence or the few people making "I'm quitting!!" thread on this forum.

Every single game in existence is dying. I don't see why that matters so much in this game in particular.

I just got back to the game after having been on a break since a month after release. The reason I quit then, and the reason I am far from blown away by the game even a year later is:

    1. The world feels extremely small and still pretty much pointless and not worth exploring what little there is. The teleportation system has just gone too far to ever make it feel big, you can never be out in nowhere either because there is always teleports and/or camps one minute away. Not to mention the amount of danger is negliable as well. The instanced to world content ratio is also just too scewed in favor of instances (Btw, still lag on tuesdays? lol I really thought it would have been solved a year later).

    2. Progression. First of all the the constant grind for tomes of x is just plain boring. It does not hurt to have some tomes, but overall I prefer drops because that actuallt makes it exciting to kill monsters/bosses. The few drops that exist in the dungeons are mostly completely pointless aside from vanity and even that mostly just applies to a few items. On top of that they decided to go with a pure vertical progression system (even though they did not even manage that correctly since they add things backwards). It is a great way to completely waste production resources on things that will be pretty much worthless a couple of months later. Something that just makes sure there is little variety and they can't keep up with development leading to people just playing for a month after a new patch and then waiting for the next patch.

    3. Itemization. Items do look pretty I will give them that, but from a stat standpoint their idea that it can't be too complex because playes new to mmorpgs should be able to understand instantly is hurting the level of interesting and fun items should bring.

    4. The class/job system. I truly hope they revamp it for the expansion. If they keep it, they at least should try and make classes useful. Especially when they act as if they are (like with how they sdded Rogue as if that means anything). Also I personally hope they make it matter more if you are someone who mains a job, if not via items then something else.

    5. The economy. They have decided that RMT is going to decide what the economy looks like to the point where the economy is just plain bad imo. The idea should be to make the best possible economy and then take measures to prevent RMT from spoiling it, not the other way around where they start by making the economy so bad to begin with that RMT have as little to do with it as possible. Especially when the RMT are there and annoying anyway.

Nr. X. Their overall idea of what a good game is clearly clashes with my own view. We all have different opinions and mine is no better or worse than anyone elses so I am just stating why I quit and will probably not stay long this time either. It does not mean it is a bad game, it just is not for me. I want danger, adventure, exploration, variety in a game that invites new players of the genre but does not focus on it to the point of making the game less interesting and complex. For me the world should be the game, here its too much Mhor Dona and instant teleport to instanced content. It is a hub based instance game with a lack of depth and complexity for my taste. For the record that does not mean I don't think there is challenging content because there is. I personally think Everquest Next is exactly what I want, but I still can't help feeling a little sad I don't enjoy this game because I love the FF worlds.

Heaps of fanboys here and SE apologists I just state my personal opinion and let the nay Sayers feel butt hurt about others stating they are leaving the game. Even going so far as saying making threads about I quit is redundant when in reality running in a thread to post about how it's redundant is redundant.

I still have a sub but the fact I haven't been able to bring myself to log in in a good 5 weeks makes me feel like my time in this game is rapidly coming to a close. It's sad as there were things about this game I quite liked. I think what is bringing me to quit is 2 things.

One is the community. I say this with some trepidation. I have always believed game design will shape a game's community. So I don't want to villainize the people I have played with. I'm sure in all reality they are good folks. But when it comes to interacting with others in this game it is just overall a very unpleasant experience be it in DF or PF or Open world. I don't know what design element(s) causes people to lose such patience and lash out the way they seem to here. I have played MMOs for 15 years and I have seen my share of unpleasantness online but this game for whatever reason just seems to take the cake. Again I don't mean to say that those reading this are bad people or that the community as a whole is bad. I just can't really pinpoint what design elements causes this effect. I do know this effect has created a very bad playing experience that I don't know if I have the desire to muscle through any further.

The second element is the token grind. I really got sick of token grinds. I never thought I'd miss an RNG drop system so badly as I have with this game. It was reasonable fun and nice to get guaranteed loot at the start of endgame back when I was grinding phil/myth tomes. But when Soldiery tomes came into play and I was grinding out for a new set of gear, I just started to feel the fatigue. The grind. The cap. It seemed to accentuate the rinse/repeat hamster-wheel design that I know is in all MMOs.

I have never played a game where when a new set of dungeons was being released I struggled to find myself even caring. I know that any new dungeon will be: A) mind-numbing easy and B) there will be no drops worth getting from the new bosses. It will just be another instance to add to the list for my daily roulette for tomes. Nothing more. Nothing interesting. 4-man content in this game is such a mind boggling snooze fest. It's rather sad.

Things I like about this game and will miss is the 8 man primal fights. I actually quite liked the challenge of the primal fights. I particularly liked Garuda Ex, Titan Ex, and Mog Ex. The story was ok but I'll admit wasn't amazing. There seemed to be a lot more cut scene talking than gameplay. Even so the Hildibrand quest chain had a lot of humor and was quite enjoyable.

In general, I think I might just be losing my interest in the genre as a whole. I don't know. I loved MMOs so much when I first started playing them (FFXI, WoW, EvE, GW1, SWG). I loved them all and always thought this genre would be my main stay hobby. But the magic is dying. Whether it's this game particularly or the genre as a whole I don't know yet. But there is no MMO on the horizon that interests me so I think I might just be done. It's sad and I'll miss it.
