Tupsi. A few things being similar doesn't mean all things will be similar. There are already considerable differences from XI in the XIV lore. It doesn't matter how many similarities you point you out because it's not a perfect 1:1 from XI. Just because 1 part is similar doesn't mean all of it will be. Any assumptions that the rest of the primals act like XI's primals are just that. Assumptions.

The things I mentioned were something that carried over through the FF titles, including an entire content concept from a different FF game. So when you see inconsistencies like this it's natural to wonder and hard to try to dismiss by saying "it's a different game" when they carried over plenty from the 'different games', that was my point.

Ironically Bahamut in XI and Bahamut in XIV are similar, the only difference is Bahamut in XI didn't get to wreck us.

Not it's not hard to dismiss it as a different game because it is. A couple of specific similarities does not immediately make all things similar. The bar in Revenant's toll is called the 7th Heaven and even includes the new secret base just like in FF7, but I don't expect Tifa and Cloud to come out all of a sudden because they didn't take every aspect. The bar itself doesn't even look the same. Another great example is the Crystal Tower. The mystical land Eureka won't be appear in the same context as it was in FF3. Yoshi has already told us as much and this is despite CT and ST following so closely to the original FF3 formula. Eureka as portrayed in FF3 didn't fit with what they were trying to do in FFXIV so they chose not to use it and will instead use it in a different way.

To summarize. They are perfectly allowed to take aspects they like and ignore aspects they don't like. Period.

Lastly, that isn't irony. In a fan service game using 1 aspect in a similar way to how it was in another game is expected (I mean that's why this thread exists) and that means it can't be irony since it was expected and easily foreseen.

Golden Saucer being a mini-game hub originated in FFVII - Redone as Serendpity in FFXIII/XIII-2, but being implemented in FFXIV, however Golden Saucer being the same Mini-Game hub shouldn't be as such, since you know "Different game."

A couple of specific similarities does not immediately make all things similar.
So the Garleans/Mechanical Genius Cid (sound familiar?) just coincidentally decided to create the same exact technology as FFVI's..? It doesn't make "all things similar", yet you can't dismiss it when they've already started down the path.

Yoshi also told us to treat players like NPCs.

Lastly, that isn't irony. In a fan service game
Oh it is irony in context of the logic of: "This is a different game."

I know, because if someone did only play FFXI they wouldn't have known that Omega and Ultima has always been "Ultimate Weapons" of some kind - In XI they weren't designed for anything specific other than being weapons, however Omega through the series has always been designed to seek out Shinryu, something you wouldn't know if you did only play FFXI.

You don't get it Tupsi. You can list a million similarities but not one specific similarity guarantees another specific similarity will exist with 100% accuracy at all. Just like my CT/ST Eureka example.

This is one of those situations that needs more "deal with it."

A game to which you correctly pointed out is a fan service game. Completely negating any irony present.

It can be a fan service game and do things differently at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive features. That's what you seem to fail to understand.

All he did was basically switch who/what claims hold of Crystal Tower. Eureka he simply didn't want to, once again, Ironically hand out treasures even though each treasure was technically behind a (tough or easy fight depending on your progression.) It would actually have been designed like XI's Nyzul Isle if they actually wanted to. While on the subject of Crystal Tower, you do know they switched some enemy/boss names around to be more accurate to FFIII's right? So yeah, Fan Service can be accurate or just hints, but like I said in my example, why did they keep Bahamut as a 'key figure' and not make him some boss of a level 20 dungeon? Fenrir has always been "just a summon" until he was finally given a bigger role. Carbuncle has almost never had a large role outside of FFXI and once again he ends up as your starter pet for a pet class, but in XIV it's just a familiar that's easily summoned, compared to XI where she was one of the key summons to basically..life itself.

So I get it, your disconnect seems to be you dislike that people are drawing comparisons using the same logic already present in this game. If it doesn't guarantee 100% accuracy, why has, thus far, every 'fan service element' been accurate? You know, they actually never explained why we do have the same technology as a different Universes. Coincidences exist, but I doubt that big of a coincidence could happen.
