Yes, because the livestream guy isn't stealing a physical spot in a limited venue from someone who may want to go regardless of the in-game reward. So if someone buys a ticket to the fest and cant make it you think its ok for them to not get a moogle attire item? However, someone else can buy the livestream, not watch it, and go right on laughing at the other guy.
And keep the personal comments out of it. If you want to talk about the subject thats fine. Insult me and I will report you for harrassment.
How is this difficult for you? If you wanted to spend all that money exclusively on the moogle outfit, frankly that's just wasteful. The money you spend on the fanfest is to go to the event and enjoy all the things they have planned for you. For people who can't conjure up the money to go to Las Vegas, there's a livestream which also includes a small thank you.

It would just make sense that people who buy tickets and dont attend dont get anything so people who dont buy tickets shouldnt either... unless the live stream costs more then 120 dollars.
It states you can't recieve the award if you buy a PHYSICAL TICKET to the PHYSICAL EVENT and then are PHYSICIALLY NOT THERE.
The livestream is an entirely separate purchase.

Sorry.
I am one of those poor people who can't afford plane ticket to travel from Australia and Las Vegas or London, and accommodation just for this.
Needless to say I don't have time for travelling as I am a tax agent lol. It's peak period now
In my honest opinion, I think this is a good option for people like us who isn't in that country.

no there is a FREE live stream.Yes, because the livestream guy isn't stealing a physical spot in a limited venue from someone who may want to go regardless of the in-game reward.

then there is a 'we no longer care about our players and wanna make a quick buck so we are gonna gate our HD stream behing a fee and bait people with the exclusive event item'
The devs here/SE in general sure have to deal with a lot of name-calling and other verbal abuse. That's the real shame.
Also, if it matters to you OP, I won't be buying the premium stream. So you'll at least still be more special than me since you will have the moogle suit and I will not.

Essentially what they originally said is that if you buy the ticket but don't show up, you can't get your item, This can only mean that they have your code written down or typed on a slip of paper, and won't go out of their way to mail it (or e-mail it) to you because you didn't show up.
The next portion is them offering the exclusive item to people who would be interested in watching the Live Stream Event and willing to pay patronage for HD or just to support the game they like. This is not truly unheard of, this has been happening since the beginning of live streaming & video games. People pay to support their games and streamers. It's also pretty obvious that not everyone can attend the event for various reasons, but would be interested in the exclusive item and take part in the fun, even from comfort of their homes.
They aren't mutually exclusive at all -- you could still not receive your code if you don't show up if you bought a physical ticket. Meanwhile, people could have the special item sent directly to them in game after paying for the HD stream. There's nothing stating that the item is truly "exclusive" either. And if it was, there would be nothing stopping SE from changing it up however they want, so that more people can take part in obtaining the items.
Fan Fest Attendees will still make out like bandits, as there are many more prizes and items both physical and digital to be obtained there. You have various [cool] tee-shirts which are still unavailable to NA and EU clients, artbooks, artwork, toys and other stuff going on. Besides, you're going to Fan Fest because it's a Festival for Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, you're supposed to be paying to join other fans and fanatics of FFXIV, hang out with Yoshi-P and co. and having a blast. If you paid $120 for a Digital Moogle Suit alone, I feel bad for you.

If the wording had said the outfit was exclusive only to fanfest attendees, you might have a point. As of right now, you have nothing but tears.
