SP nerfed. We were lied to.

"certain" very rare leves, which involved 3 in broken water, one in horizon, and one each in three level 30 spots.

Which means that unless you exploited the fail->redo method, there's absolutely no way you regularly gained 15k a leve, not even with full links.

As suede confirmed, fast experience is very possible, and now you don't even need to exploit.

I know I'm quoting from a couple pages ago but I thought I'd ask. What exactly needs to be done to properly get fast SP post-1.18? I'm not here to bitch, I prefer to have solid facts before I point the blame finger. So Abriael if you're still here, what exactly is the process to go about now?

Why was this done? Are you really thinking that slowing ranking up to a crawl will retain population? Because this sort of thing is exactly what made everyone quit. Considering the state the game was slowly recovering from I would think this was the last thing they would consider doing.

No that isn't why everyone quit. The battle system was cumbersome and the WAY you gained SP would dumb down the way you fight. There wasn't much skill in the battle system, lots of disconnects... there is a LOT of different reasons people quit. I highly doubt it was because it was so "hard" to rank up.

Plus they need to make people stay longer in this game... what better way than to slow down the speed of ranking up a little?

I can think of quite a few better ways. Slowing it down doesn't make them stay longer, it makes them leave.

I'm a pretty critical person of this game, but I don't think this is anything to get fussed up about. The entire game is being redone, this is just one rough step in the process. Things will get better from here. If you need to step away from the game because of lack of progress, then do it. I don't get the mad need to rush to 50 in a game where there is almost no content.

Agree.... leves nerfed too much... im an hardcore player... but i dont like waste my time for 1k sp in total...
Too much mp costs... and im mage class in my soul, know what to do in fight... but too much costs...

Give us the sweet ,godly ,faster ,clear and perfect search system of FFXI.
Was so easy... logged in game, open menu click on seek party... got invites and sent invites... few minutes and the party was ready to go!
Now doesnt work this new useless system.... doesnt work at all.
Please fix those things. i wanna lvl up not die in town shoutin in the wind...

Slowing it down to 12 years to get to rank 50, as someone pointed out? Sounds a bit harsh to me..
But at least it's a safe way to get people pissed at you.
I'm not that far yet, but I'm not happy with these changes, either.
Quests may be a great way for ranking up in other games, which have tons of quests, but FFXIV hasn't.
So if it's so easy and even better than before to rank up, tell us some solid facts on how to do it.

But it's more challenging now! Yes, grinding for 6+ hours a day, spamming the same abilities over and over again, and resting for minutes between each battle is so fun and challenging and makes you a better player!
