Behest was the main way to rank up quickly pre patch and it's so bad now barely anyone bothers to join.
I am glad somebody else figured out how to play their jobs correctly![]()
My experience after the patch last night was a good one. I was in a leve party with two other people and we were doing leves at treespeak and nine ivies. I gained an entire level from those leves. Level 35 to 36, plus some extra, a total of roughly 60k sp. Look me up on xivpads and check out my timeline if you don't believe me.
I really can't say that's bad or slow. I'm sure mileage varies depending on circumstances, but my results are pretty telling.
From the looks of it Yoshi is trying to spread out the game play and the possibilities for gaining SP. Content focused around the camps is more centered for the solo players who can catch a behest link some leves maybe grab another behest and call it a day before work.
Now if your looking to gain SP in the MOST effective way you need to check outside of the camps and located some nice SP clustered enemies. There are a lot of options in FFXIV and people who just stick to one really limit themselves.

300 SP a mob / 1 mob down in 30 secs. 1 hour got 60 Minutes, so 120 Mobs x 300 SP = 36k/hour.
HOW is that BAD?
MP-Management. Its not only doable.. its all about management and if you like your Class, it is fun
Its Skill > Lazyness.
And now im going to SP and for Dungeons.
Have fun everyone complaining about a Game you are playing. If you dont like it .. just .. leave .. now. Not mean to be harsh but im tired of this complaints. Easy and simple: You dont like it? There is the door ->.
Hey Wynn. The problem with that is we can only do 8 leves every day and a half. It's not a constant. My experience after the patch last night was a good one. And since everyone here keeps mentioning this. Yes, I am aware leves are not meant to be the main way to rank, it used to be behest and now they want us to group. That's great except that I have already explained how it goes when you try to group in grind PTs. It is NOT fun in the least and when you see such small SP gains it just sucks any enthusiasm away.

We are talking about battle leves here. those were nerfed to hell.
Doing Local leves gives you more sp than before. Doing Gather leves gets you more sp than before. Doing battle leves gets you less sp than before, no matter how you do them.
This sp seems okay for low levels, you don't hit an sp hump until after 35, I didn't really feel the sp hump till 38, pre that I could get a level every day, after that you could only get a level everyday with failing leves. So if anyone who is in the 40s could tell me there leve experience with a group of 3-4 minimum, and 8 people max. A member of my static is out of town right now, so we're taking a break and I can't test. We told him dumb to go out of town week of this patch, but he's a lame-o.
biggest problem is theres no search palyer function or exping would be hell of alot better, because you cant start a party without a LS or shouting for one.
I'm going to say this. If you agree with me, that it's terribly difficult to rank up since the patch. Don't play anymore. Let the devs see. Only then will they make change. Ignore these rank 50s who talk as if they didn't gain their ranks when the game was easy mode.
