SP nerfed. We were lied to.

Hey, go back to botting rank 50 fsh. I'll have you know that I have JUST finished my 20th leve since I've made this character. I'm p-lvl 50! Do you see all my jobs I have leveld? And I've only done 20 leves!

Now imagine doing that with barely any leves. I KNOW how to rank up, i KNOW how to get SP.. and this patch has made it almost impossible to effectively rank up.

OH NOES.. we cant do leve-links anymore.. OH NOES.. we actually have to PT up in normaly SP-Grind Parties and use our Brain.. OH NOES.. we cant be lazy anymore.. we are forced to play a Game, instead of beeing feeded with a golden Spoon...

Start to think, before you are talking.. Fishing is one of my 50's.. yeah botting.. lol. if you smartass dont know how to play a Game, and other Peoples do.. they bot? Seriously.. use your Brain, if you ever find it. I have 3 Combat Classes at 50 smartass, without failing leves.

And no.. you DONT know how to rank up, if you still dont get it.

That was the most dumb comment i ever read in this Forum.

The Dungeons give great sp. I've been spamming them since patch...

I've also been doing the quests which give good SP. I have been doing leves too... which give good SP. I've done everything but grind...

A good way to get sp now would be the quests I'm sure. Sure some are cost effective when you think of distance ran, but getting 1k just for talking to the grand company people is nice, and kinda easy mode. Kill some cobs somewhere 3000 sp for the quest when you turn it in that is worth it. I think for guildleves you are going to need 8 people again, does anyone know maximum links used to be 1+4, i wonder if they made it 1+7 now. 1 being person who initiates and the +# being those who link.

Enemies at beastmen camps yield more than double the SP of a normal enemy of the same level. I was getting almost 400 sp per kill for R46-48 Amaljaa on my R46 THM.

I don't think SP was nerfed, they are just shifting the focus of the leveling up process a little bit.

Edit: it was actually around 300 SP, sorry, got confused with something else I was doing around the same time, still ~double the SP.

I was just killing random enemies around my same level at a very steady pace near silver bazaar and receiving 200-300sp. I didn't have much time to play because i am now at work, however the SP gains were a lot more then i got pre patch *shrug* so i don't know, maybe i didn't know how to level pre 1.18 but I'm moving along nicely now.

I played FFXI since NA launch and i love the group grinding, but always wanted some solo content, in comparing the two I am actually very happy with the solo ability and group content in FFXIV thus far.

1. The Party function worked SINCE RELEASE. Just ppl didnt like it.
2. in 1.18 they added an updated Party-funtion
3. Level with your friends.. if you dont like the party function.
4. Level with your LS-Mates.. if you dont like the party function.
5. SHOUT for Party
6. Check for your Brain again.

SP was not nerfed unless you were using the Leve Link & abandon method. If you take this into account, leve SP all around has been buffed quite a bit. No fatigue is another boost.

Guildleves will no longer be central to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

We will reposition guildleves as content catering to solo adventurers, which can be enjoyed repeatedly and with minimal time investment and fuss.

In light of guildleves’ repositioning as solo-oriented content, leve link bonuses will be reduced. To make up for this reduction, skill points will be added as a new reward for the benefit of solo adventurers.

Leves are made for solo/duo players who are more casual, if you go out an treat it like that you should get the same basic SP you would have gotten if you were soloing and duoing it before the patch.

We’re hurrying to bring in adjustments to enemy distribution, respawn timers, linked-enemy bonuses, and party bonuses to make skill point awards in public areas even tastier when playing in a party. Regarding linking, the current specs for fixed “enemy groups” will see large-scale changes towards a system more capable of addressing the combat potential of parties.

He wants people to go out and party instead of just doing leves, going to camps and ranking up on nothing but leves is no longer the productive way to gain SP anymore.

This is the overall goal they are heading for and can not be totally done in one patch. I believe people are jumping the gun since he did say it would take 1.18 and 1.19 to complete this.

He is not lying, you're trying to play FFXIV the old way before the patch... the old way doesn't work anymore. People will have to adjust to the new direction that the game is heading. He make his intentions very specific in this letter, I am sorry .

While parties are the least bad option after the patch they are not in any way efficient. Getting 300SP per mob is pitiful at higher levels especially now that healers need to constantly rest for MP with the increased costs. It's doable, sure, but it will take a very long time to accomplish significant progress and most importantly it's not fun, it's a chore and it shouldn't be that way in a video game. Especially since Yoshi specifically said he wouldn't do that which is the point of the thread.
