People kicking new players for watching cs's.....just stupid.

Blame falls on Square Enix for overestimating how kind and patient this community is. These days you get kicked and verbaly abused for all silly things. I am so glad that I decided to do the final dungeons with FC members only.

My only advice to Square Enix is in the future either make cutscenes:
1. Unskippable, forcing every player to watch it, every time.
2. Put the cutscenes at the start and at the end of the dungeon.

FFXIV community is not patient enough to wait for others to enjoy their first time cutscene, Square Enix needs to remember that just, because the japanese players are patient and social, doesnt mean the US and EU players are the same.

'cause Japanese populace is famous for their social skills ("JAPANESE ONRY!!!" teams are indeed quite social and nice) and the large amount of free time the average youth has.

I said that the majority decides. If 7 people are skipping YOU are the odd one, not them. You are not suddenly more important than other 7 people just because you feel that cutscenes are sacred.

eh i still find it rude. that she was kicked for simply watching a CS. That alone SCREAMS WoW mentality......ive been on FF11 and FF14 1.0 and never encountered such pettiness....

but while playing both ffxi and 1.0 you didn't have to deal with WoW players

My FIRST run in Prae to complete for story? I was asked to skip the CS cause 6 of the other guys weren't new, this meant I got to participate in the fights, then I went to the inn right after to watch the cutscenes. Was this ideal? Nope. Do I feel like I missed anything in the end? Nope.

in the future, you'll come at a point you'll get frustrated by people watching a CS, so it's no use getting angsty now.

That's if you feel like doing Story Roulette. I've not touched Story Roulette since two weeks after 2.2. They're boring dungeons and I always feel bad for new players being left behind or getting badgered by 'veteran' players who are only there for tomes.

Pushing PF can be applied to both groups: those who want to watch cut scenes and those who do not want to wait around for cut scenes*. There is no right or wrong to this matter. Personally, I don't mind if someone wants to watch cut scenes. More power to them. I'll just use the time to refill my glass and/or use the restroom. And if they're new to the dungeon, well that's extra tomes for me!

*I won't call them speed runs as non-cut scene groups I've been in have progressed slower than those that DID wait for those watching cut scenes.

Even if the other 7 don't want to watch that doesn't make their wants above that of the last player. If those 7 want speedruns they can make a PF for it. Some people play for story. Like someone said the devs have said kicking for watching cutscenes if it wasn't a PF requirement not to is a reportable offence. Nuff said.

Learn what democracy is. In modern democracy, the rights of everyone are protected.
The majority only rules in matters that do not infringe rights.

Let's say there are 7 vets who want to speedrun, take the bonus, but treat noobs like trash. The majority is trying to infringe on the right to experience content for the first time, so they don't rule.

Some will argue the vets have a right to speedrun.
They can do that with PF.

Some will argue vets have the right to speedrun and get a myth bonus.
The bonus is a reward for helping people, not a right.
