In high to mid level dungeons, yeah. Low level, it is fine. In Toto-rak I heal tanks for as much as a level appropriate healer does, with CS on and never get to half mp. Even if the tank doesn't have an issue with my over healing, staying in CS and healing and DPSing has been much faster than standing there waiting for the tank to lose enough HP so I can cure it back up.
And it really isn't so much that the tanks who did lose hate, suck. In one instance there was a THM who was pulling and the tank kept hate from them, no problem. But after a third cure from me, I'd have one mob on me. Fourth cure, I'd have them all on me. For such a low level dungeon, even while synced, I have too much crit. So instead of healing for 200+ with a non crit, I'd crit heal for 300~400ish.
But if I do it in CS, the party stays alive, I don't end up tanking, it's faster and I never reach even half mp.
