I would still very much like an answer. The difference between waiting in a line of 250 people and a line of over 8,000 people is significant enough to impact many hours of my trip.
I can at the very least plan ahead if I can know what to expect.

I'd just goto the VIP booth and try it first, id expect them to do both at same time.
Honestly, there is only a max of around 2000 early tickets sold and of which 250 are VIPs. So if everyone arrived same second and got in same line at same second the line would be at max 1750 long.
I'd expect like 80% will get there Friday and do early registration and of those 1400 people, i'd assume they will go at a decent rate. That's not too bad at all imo. Especially since early registration is an all day thing.
The line I am waiting to see how it turns out is the 250 tickets sold to walkups.
Just how many people are planning a vacation on the hopes of getting a ticket and at worse, being in vegas for the weekend.
