How come there's no option to run this game in 640x480?

we're in 2014, theres no need to go that low anymore.

That's not actually the point. i run my desktop in 640x480 too. it's not a performance thing. I simply think that it looks better. It's a choice of physical display. much like how the ps1 looks primitive or small in resolution. 640x480 is a primitive graphical resolution for the pc. So to keep it in 640x480- is retro.

However large resolutions isn't futuristic either. Performances can only be measured at the lowest resolution possible. So you test it from the lowest resolution possible on PC. You may also test it from the highest level possible.

So until windows operating system no longer allows 800x600 resolution for the desktop it is not a primitive resolution yet. It is actually more primitive to leave it out. So when windows operating system phases out 800x600- for desktop display i will acknowledge you. However for someone like me it's more of a visual choice.

edit: 800x600 is the lowest resolution possible. however it can still enter 640x480 in safe mode or without a graphical adapter. Can also enter 640x480 through (low resolution mode) This is in windows 7 anyways.

320x240 is an obsolete resolution. There are still uses for 640x480.
