You didn't read anything I typed clearly, they ARE adding it, as they DO care. Please consider reading what people type before responding so swiftly.
But they're never going to add it straight away as that would means developing four variations of the fight;
[1] Original Concept/Battle Design - (Too Difficult for main-stream raiding)
[2] Watered Down "Normal Raid" through various adjustments
[3] Savage Mode based on Original Concept
[4] Story Mode, simple or no fights altogether
That is a lot of time and work that could be better spent elsewhere, which is why we're only seeing savage modes of the fight now.
Considering they're already on a 3-month development cycle it doesn't leave a lot of breathing room, you'll simply have to be patient, the actual raid content will always come first before the nerfs.
It's already being added, I don't know why you're chastising them as if it's not already a thing;
Sure it's nice if people can access the story, but if you have access to it right meow then simply watch them here;Q: With the Bahamut's coils completing in patch 2.4, do you have any plans for players who are only interested in seeing the storyline?
A: I have also been wondering what we can do. With respect to the difficulty, there will be some relaxation, but we also need to consider players who are starting new, so we haven't finalized any specifics yet. I would like it so that at some point everyone could experience the story.

If you're stuck in Coil1 I can see it actually being harder to get through in some ways than pre-2.3. One thing that people often forget is that players move on from the old content. There's really no reason to go back and to t5 again any more, none of the gear is relevant.
Coil isn't supposed to be main story as far as I've ever seen. I can see making it easier in order to help people that are really stuck but making it a freebie cheapens the experience. Maybe remove the instant death wall so dive bombs aren't so bad and twisters one take out the one person.
I've had this 30% packet loss issue since the game was launched. That's now 14 months with this problem! My ISP recently informed me that I need to contact their peering provider instead of them and stop harassing them over the issue. I clear T9 weekly and have been for the past 3+ months. It is not an excuse for why you're not able to clear content in this game.
As for actual discussion on this topic; I am strongly against further dumbing down content in this game because the player base is already insufferably bad at simple things like pushing a button every time the game allows them to push a button. Adding more things that will further lower the incentive to get better at the game is just going to be detriment to everyone's ability to enjoy the game. Some of you have brought up hunts - I considered hunts as my salvation from the insufferable player base. I could get away with not having to do content with people that 9 out of 10 times would disappoint and/or underperform in multiple ways. I did not touch dungeons or trials for the span of 2+ months and it was glorious.
Now I have to willingly toss myself at these people again to glaze my relic which now has been made the best item you can have until next patch. Hunts provide nothing for the soulglazing part and I can no longer find relief from having to deal with the players of this game.
Please don't make the player base dumber. It's enough already.

Just have to point out. Savage mode isn't really based on "original concept" if you look at the mechanics they were specifically changed to prevent us from using "mainstream strats/tricks"
Examples:
LOS T6 suck in / skipping super slugs
T7 (only leaving up one rinaud and 1 kiter)
Solo tanking T8/9
I mean MAYBE this was the original design but I highly doubt it. More like they looked at what we were doing and thought, "Let's just make this fight harder by changing x/y" "This will buy us time until 2.4!"
Is it bad that when I saw "or no fights altogether", all I could think of was them using the zone, and adding a static dead-body of Twintantia, and when you enter, you just... get a cutscene where Twin is lying there on the ground, dead. "Seems someone already did the work for us." xD and then moving along...
Meh. My FC recently got about 5 people their T5 clear at the same time. They got enough gear but not enough game experience; most of them havent even been 50 for a month. Took us 2 hours a day for 5 days spanning 2 weeks to train them on t5. That's about 10 hours. Not very long at all. I dont think the 3 of us who already got the win way before were even carrying the other 5. We were pld, whm and brd (me on zenith). Majority of the DPS still has to be done by the one we were helping and they still have to stay alive on their own.
If your ISP is not Verizon, I don't care. That is a different issue. Lag makes coil unplayable, and that is a fact. How can you possibly explain dodging divebombs or picking up adds when there is at least 10 second delays in everything you do and see on your screen?
To the rest of your argument, you don't seem to understand that people will not have access to later coils and gear by clearing an easy mode, as explained in the OP. If anything, this would make the playerbase better, as they'd have an avenue for practice. This is purely for storyline purposes.
As far as development time, they've discussed this possibility before, and it may happen in the next patch. I don't think anyone expects it to actually happen now... OK maybe some of them do. At the end of the day, yes, I agree that it is up to them as to whether or not this would be a possibility. The whole point of creating a thread is to show support for an idea, which might be viable.
EVERY gear is relevant.none of the gear is relevant.

Do you truly believe that people would ask for anything in this scenario ? :
"Here goes, story mode, no loot, just story. You'll only have access to the story mode of next tier though. Enjoy !"
give rewards ? sure not, the point of it is not loot. Unlock normal mode ? well this would be a valid concern (the quests are done when all the CS have been played) if the next tier wouldn't have any story mode. As I said, once the "normal mode" would become irrelevant, there would be no harm to add the next tier of "story mode".
The post may have been lost somewhere, but a scenario as simple as "XX tier becomes free farm with echo so let's add story mode as well for those who don't care at all about the loot" would solve anything you argued against.
You're deluding yourself with that argument.
People who succeed (or rather faceroll) in Coil are only kept in the game because of the lock outs, not because of the challenge. Listen to them and how easy the content is once they have done it and get it on farm. Those who don't succeed in Coil do not do Coil anymore. It's just that simple. There are more people who don't want to bang their head and just want to have fun in a game, even if it's a MMO.
You talk about timesinks, I talk about story. One of the main arguments when "Final Fantasy" comes is the story (along with musics and cinematic). If you prevent FF player base to get access to the story, you're going against one major sale argument of the whole franchise. Now this is a MMO. MMOs need timesink because no matter what, players will clear content faster than it's done. However, there are other ways to do it than to lock important parts of the story behind content people have abandoned since a long time because reasons (I don't want to feed the "put the time in it" trolls anymore).
Is it that hard or hurting someone's feelings to give everyone what the Final Fantasy franchise is about (i.e., story) ?
yet an other one who failed to see the point and just assumed people want T5 handout
I read some of your posts again and now I wonder where you had seen anything about adding story mode right of the bat along with new tier or anything. If anything, I asked for T1-5 version soon because it's been a year already and... it's pretty pointless now. Only FC carry groups ever fill with reasonable chance to succeed. SCoB could benefit to come soon too as it will be irrelevant when 2.4 comes so yeah, why not. T10~14ish ? hell not, not before 2.6 at best (2.6 which is likely to be 3.0 but meh, you see the point).
