Exactly, this is entirely an instant gratification thing and nothing else. I personally enjoy that I still have things I can work toward. I would be disappointed if I had completed everything at this point and just waited for resets or whatever.Nerfs happens for two reasons nowadays :
- Lack of players to actually do the content (which is not the problem on FFXIV really)
- Lazyness of the mass not whiling to put some effort into doing things.
And still it's just a freakin excuse to actually get past some content people dont wanna lose time on.
People just gonna get throught lightning fast, and then complain they get bored cause of the weekly lockout/unique drop.
The more easy you can clear stuff/gear, the more people are gonna go for it, as simple as that, most of them dont even care about playing with 'old players' anyway.
lol, that's not what you used to say:
So when it was new and you needed to do it, it had to be fixed but now that it's old and you're done it's totally fine!Just dropping in to say that I totally and wholeheartedly agree with your entire post. This patch was a major disappointment and everything that was added seems to require such a ridiculous grind that I find myself also saying "Why bother?" I never thought I'd feel this way about this game but if this is what the future looks like I doubt I'll be sticking around. I play for fun, not to grind away like it's another job.
I'd also like to know how all those people against easing up on atma feel about hunt, because hunt gives higher ilvl also for "using one finger and no brain"
Hey, what are you talking about, bro? Hunts are hard >.>lol, that's not what you used to say:

My last hunt I swapped to whm and spammed medica II. Walked away with max seals for the very first time since hunts released, and the party was short 1 person. It was amazing. I honestly hadn't believed the reports, because I still had faith that maybe SE had half a design clue. Hunts aren't in any way, shape, or form a challenge.
And I still hate them.
This gave me a genuine chuckle. I KNEW there were people out there who did this. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if a LOT of commenters saying atma is fine and people need to stop whining have some comments like this buried in the forums.
Gold, absolute gold lol!.
Why people wanna always everything in 2 minutes ... that's a shame in
new gamer's spirit ... it's a RPG not a FPS !
Honestly, i have used the time to farm all atma (i have done all weapons)
to raise the level of my chocobo from 2 to almost 10. I've finish to farm
them they are a long time (before novus).
I have made a choice between primal extreme (leviathan ex was the one)
and drop weapons and relics. I think now i have made the good choice.
When i have finished relics, i see PF allowing only 'Link loot'.
So if player wanna continue to be so self fish ... so be it
BUT PLEASE SQUARE ENIX .... Add more difficulty to obtain relics upgraded
as i see them as somekind of Final Weapons.
Currently, i'm upgrading all atma to animus ... it's fun and allow me to
re/discover all jobs in a lot of contents :-)
And yes, i'm ready to spend time to get relics of newcoming jobs ... it's pretty
fast to get it when i compare with the time needed in FFXI when cap was at 75.

Funny thing is, depending on the persons luck, the Atma weapon can be acquired within 30 minutes. That's the fun thing about RNG. People do not want to get the Atma ASAP (though again, depending on the persons luck, they may feel entitled to deserve an Atma after doing over 100-500 level 3-20 FATE's in a single zone), they just want it to be progression, like every other step in the Zodiac quest line. Also, you can buy Alexandrites with Allied Seals and somewhat buy them with Myth (buy the maps), yet can not do this with Atma.
You really should not post things with outrageous exaggeration to try and make some semblance of a point. No one has ever asked to have everything in 2 minutes. It just makes you look like a fool.
It is because we have been told that in order to get the Ninja relic to farm the atma now (this was a couple months back) so unless they do a surprise revision in the next month or were flat out lying to the player-base, in every likely-hood Ninja will use the atma path.
I'm glad you decided to go digging through my post history to pull up something from half a year ago that is essentially no longer relevant to my current opinion, just to attempt to vilify me. On top of that, I clearly recall being very upset that day (I have a lot of real life issues, serious ones) and in that case, I had let my emotions get the better of me before I had even given it much of a chance. My outlook on the Zodiac quests was based mostly on what I had been told by other people, and not based on my own experiences. But I guess here on the internet people are never allowed to have a change of heart and everyone should be held accountable for everything they've ever said or thought ever.
This was just another attempt at an ad hominem argument instead of addressing any of the points that I had made in my posts in this thread. You just blatantly and outright attacked my characteristics and authority without getting to the substance of any of the points that I had made.
I would have responded to this sooner but the 24-hour post limit had kept me from doing so.
Except I'm not done, because I want Atma and higher for every job. I have Paladin at Novus, and I just finished gathering a set of 12 Atma for Ninja the other day. Yesterday I started gathering a new set for a job I haven't decided to use it on. I have 1/12 of the new set, so I still have a lot of work to do. It has nothing to do with me "not needing it" and to assume that is ridiculous.
