Don't forget the classic "Bard pulls everything with Raging Strikes then dies when tank can't get hate". Don't have a pic but I really do hate it when they do that and every time I just let them eat it.

I almost smashed my head against the keyboad as I was laughing!!! I HAD to take that SS D:THANK YOU.
I legit have no idea how I died on that fight; I checked the combat log during my downtime and I should have survived with around 200-300 HP. Seeing all three of us going down at the same time was the funniest thing I'd seen all week though so I'm just gonna sit back and take it anyway.
You should also consider that DRGs fight in direct proximity to the boss, whereas bards and other long range classes can just pewpew from a secure distance. Having to follow a complicated rotation of 15-20 skills, minding your position and dodging stuff while standing at the front line can be a bit overwhelming for some players.
Then why MNKs dont die as much as DRGs then ? Theyre pretty much the same.You should also consider that DRGs fight in direct proximity to the boss, whereas bards and other long range classes can just pewpew from a secure distance. I think the DRG Soul crystal just affects people brains and make them retarded. :P
There are less monks than there are dragoons, that's why it might seem to you that the dragoons are dying more often. You said it yourself - they are pretty much the same. Both are high-risk classes. Both have good and bad players. And from what I've see monks have the same mortality rate as dragoons. Also, I find the second part of your post slightly offensive.
Dragoons do not rotationally use 15-20 skills. What in the crap are you talking about.You should also consider that DRGs fight in direct proximity to the boss, whereas bards and other long range classes can just pewpew from a secure distance. Wish I could find the ascii flowchart, but apparently healers like healing MNKs, whereas they'll just wait till the DRG dies and just throw them a raise.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Reason that drg died a lot I guess it's probably because they have the lowest mdef of all the jobs? And probably because of jump to, if you use it at the wrong time.
I only know one guy who seriously plays a Dragoon as main class and he is one of the best players I have ever met. When I did the relict for my Dragoon just for the sake of completing it, I asked him for a roation. He first showed me one to use without looking like an idiot for what I need during the Relict quest and then he showed me his combo, normal and burst one. Boy, that was a headache of skills depending on each other and various conditions. It was more than a dozen of skills used in a strict order but including variations when certain conditions are given. I have lots of respect since this for Dragoons who know to play their class well.
