I Like what I see in this thread.

For those who are really new to forums, those medals are usually based on how many likes a poster get. There's even forums that implement a experience point-like and level which replaces these medal we have in this forum. Depending on each forum regularities, they could enable/disable total of "like" (or "thanks" on some forum) counts, which obviously has been disabled on this forum.
Here are examples:

Speaking of which...
A different kind of Gold Medal question:
What does those at Lodestone front page represents? And how does they measure? I'm talking about the one on the lowest right corner of page.

According to this it's likes you give, not likes received, and it makes sense when you see people who get hundred of likes in hot topics but their medal count is lower than many other people in this thread. For those who are really new to forums, those medals are usually based on how many likes a poster get. (Or perhaps likes received to have a weight, but only have control on one of them)

Ah... so it works the other way around. That should answer OP as well.According to this it's likes you give, not likes received, and it makes sense when you see people who get hundred of likes in hot topics but their medal count is lower than many other people in this thread.

It's both. Unless the later post supercedes this one. Hard to tell for sure with SEnglish.According to this it's likes you give, not likes received, and it makes sense when you see people who get hundred of likes in hot topics but their medal count is lower than many other people in this thread.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

The question is... Why let it concern you? I mean, unless you want nothing but shiny gold medals... But really, just post and enjoy the forums. Post count/likes always contribute to stuff like this.
It's definitely not just likes givin as I don't like too many posts.
