Considering it's not used that way almost everywhere else... Random for me.
Meant to say FFXIV not ARR.
oh damn, yes please on the merging of /me and /em. So many times it happens.
I dub this topic's new title /me /myself and /emote
Please don't do this. I've played FFXIV from the beginning and it would really mess me up >.>
Because everything XI does is perfect and this game should copy every little thing from XI. How about comparing the games where /me is used as our /em vs those were /me is something else?
This reminds me of that "casting lots" discussion.
(before I get flamed, I'm not totally against suggestions from XI, but I loathe that attitude of "It was like that in XI, so it has to be that way here".)

Just cause it was like that way in XI doesn't make it bad or wrong. Its how its always been for a FF mmo so its how us vets are used to it. Changing it now will help some while making it annoying for others.Because everything XI does is perfect and this game should copy every little thing from XI. All the games I've played have used /em for custom stuff, with /me either not existing or being a gesture of its own. No need to change what isn't broken.
You're all human, you can adapt to a small change
As someone who started with FFXI it wasn't that hard to start using /me for other things.
