Multiple house on one account abuse

I thought there was some pre-req already of being level 50 and having a rank of 2nd lieutenant within a grand company?. As I couldn't buy my house until I swapped my character to a GC where I had a 2nd lieutenant rank.

I have no idea because I read somewhere (forgot where) a lvl 20 brought a house. Unless they meant a alt took over a fc which - should also have the same rules on making or taking over a free company. But the grand company pre-req is super easy. If they add the gc pre-req and a quest after a certain part in the story, like after you 'finish' the main story. Then I don't see a problem :3

You have to be at least 44 to do Dzemal Darkhold, which is required for the rank below the rank you need to be able to buy a house. As far as main story goes, you only need to be a couple quests past Ifrit (level ~20) to join a GC.
