Ideas and Suggestions for New Content

I've thought about quite a few things I would find interesting to be implemented in XIV. Let me know your views or suggestions you might have!

    1. PvP DF matchmaking must, MUST be fixed!
-wait time is horrendous for most GCs (imbalance of members in one)
-Perhaps make PvP rank character unique rather than GC specific. That way people can more freely flow into other GCs without having to start a long grind all over
    2. More casual clothing options for glamour purposes.
-New ones get added, but it would be great to see a lot more ideas
-Perhaps more events with other Final Fantasy games with clothing and weapons iconic to that game.

    CONT

-maybe a cash shop with more outfits to choose from *don't kill me for this! DX*
-For some headgear, perhaps making it to wear it sits atop the hair like Summoner's horn rather than cutting through it like Royal Crown
    3. A market board in Revenant's Toll
    4. I had an idea for a new class/job combo. A Fortuneteller/Psychic
-Uses a floating crystal ball (in hand maybe?)
    -Another support class (DPS/Heals) perhaps?
-Uses status inflict debuffs (paralyze, stun, silence?)
    5. More classes from XI
-Never got to play but a lot look like fun!
-Blue Mage, Red Mage, Dark Knight, Rune Knight, etc
    6. Make ATMA less RNG grind heavy
-The grind for other upgrades are long enough and are actually a viewable goal *not pure luck*
    7. Make sure hunts spawn in more open areas
-not in caves (OLN for example; S rank spawned there once was a nightmare)

That's all for now, if anyone else has some ideas feel free to respond!

No. No cash shop for outfits. That's F2P crap.

I liked your idea about PvP being character based instead of GC. Alternative to that would be:

Make it possible to join with friends under their GC banner.

PvP Hamlet Defense. Open world PvP that PvEers can avoid.

-Three new zones for each Grand Company; only members of that Grand Company can regularly enter/teleport to the zone. Crystal would be in a safe zone.
-Each zone has its own magical shiny which gives that Grand Company -5% off the cost of anything purchased with Company Seals.
-Every 2 hours, one of the zones becomes a PvP battle field for something like 10 minutes (First Adders invade Maelstrom, then Maelstrom invade Flames, then Flames invade Adders).
-The aim is to defend your magical shiny, or if you're the attackers to steal your enemies (functioning similarly to some of the Sylph dailies, but with you dropping the shiny rather than it teleporting back to the start).
-During the down time between each battle, players of the specific Grand Company can trade in items to improve the defensive rating of the zone, adding things like more defensive structures and mercenary NPCs to the area to help defend.
-PvE Besieged style Hamlet Defense could occur during a zones down time, with the Beast tribe taking the shiny back to their base if they win (fights obviously not occurring if no shiny in the zone) for a massive Odin level FATE.

On top of this, make the Company Seals ranking, which is currently used on the Lodestone, rank the Grand Companies on the server on a weekly basis, similar to what Final Fantasy XI did. Depending on the position the Grand Company comes in, players can talk to a Grand Company NPC to receive rewards (I'm thinking Allied Seals; 1st place 30, 2nd place 20, 3rd place 10). Also implement Company Seals rewards for Frontlines based on what position players come in, so Frontlines contributes to the ranking. May actually make more sense to use something other than Company Seals in order to tally up the Grand Companies every week, since that is something that can easily be abused by turning in i55 crafted items over and over.

    1. Frontline is good as it is, you don't wait that much...
    2. Nope, I don't want to see cosplayers everywhere, I'd rather have new outfits ( and less bikinis ) and no cash shop, I pay a subscription it's already enough...

    3. Nope, there is already a lot of things there, that would make the main cities useless...
    4. It's not a classic FF job and you have like 1% of the datas the devs need to create a new job, sorry.
    5. They are coming, they don't come from FFXI in the first place... Oh and they are jobs, not classes.
    6. SE already said no, only a possible easing in 2.4.
    7. Deal with it.

Bonus : 8. remove the 1K char limitations with the edit button !

That depends on timezone and data center. I'm perfectly fine with the odd 20 minute wait, but most of the time I'm sat waiting into the 90 minute range. Pretty ridiculous considering there is no role requirements at all. Really wish they'd just merge all the data centers for PvP already...

    1. I envy you if your wait time is minor. Not many people are fortunate in that area, hence why they need to work on the matchmaking.
    2. Some people want a more diverse option for what they want to look like. And the cash shop was a thought, but not something I would say would be 100% good. It would depend.
    3. Rev Toll is where the majority of end game people hang. They would also do good to have an airship station there. Plus the main cities would still have crafting, DoW,DoM, and events still.
4&5. It was an idea, and yes I'm aware that many jobs came from Tactics. Please don't assume I don't. I just thought it would be interesting to have a class/job line with a debuff rotation more intricate than SMN/SCH. I also defend it with not being too OP with the fact that debuffs are designed in game to affect the enemy/player less and less the more it's used on it. Also, isn't the progression Class>Job? So yes they are jobs, but no need to be rude.
    6. Do you think it's fair one person could get all theirs in less than 12 hours and another could get three and grind 100 hours without getting another? That's very unbalanced.
    7. You clearly didn't have to fight the OLN S rank in a very small mine shaft. Wiped multiple 8 man parties with ease.
    8. Elaborate please ^-^

He means that you don't have to split your post over 2 posts if you exceed 1000 characters. But rather you can first post a small portion, then you can edit the post and include the rest.

I wouldn't mind more clothing options. I'd rather pay $5 for vanity gear than 1 million gil and more -_-
