exactly ,but instead of reading the point, you prefer to act like i killed a puppy and preach some nonsense .
Way to miss the point. The "west" refers to any non Asian country in terms of gaming demographics, which means Europe, Australia, the Americas and Mexico.
Also, what "conquest"? If you mean the conquest system from FFXI there were zero complaints about it as all it did was determine what NPCs sold what, how long your signet lasted and what gear you can buy from your nation under a specific rank.
Nothing is wrong with that. FFXI isn't the spawn of satan you people are making it out to be, which game failed? XIV or XI? Which game is going under a complete overhaul? XIV or XI? Which game has even the basics of the basics? They would do well to copy what XI did right, especially if they're going to be using a similar communication system as well as similar story setup.
Btw, your Elezen is from FFXI. It's the same company making an online mmorpg from the same series as FFXI (Final Fantasy), similarities will obviously be present, we rode chocobos in FFXI, so they shouldn't add them to XIV, yes? Everytime Square tries to do something different people instantly complain "THAT'S NOT HOW ITS DONE IN X, Y, Z MMO!"
So nothing will be 'innovative" as long as people decide to complain about everything.
i'm so glad that the people complaining are seriously the minority.. Last night after patch there was 20+ people on in my linkshell and there was only 1 person complaining and it was about SP from Behest and Leve's being to low.. That's a pretty rock solid patch to me..
I also never heard anyone complain about the story line missions which is what grand companies are suppose to be, in FFXI.. For most people, besides all of the end game, that was their FAVORITE part.. the stories are GREAT.. not everything has to be about ZOMG IT DIDN'T GIMMIE A PURP! WTF THIS SUCKS NO PURPZ!?!?111111
The story is what I'm after.. as long as the stories for grand companies rock, i'm happy!
I missed the entire conversation so far. But to comment on your original concern, I don't think Companies will be anything like FFXI conquest. Conquest was built on a nation vs. nation mentality. Which nation will come out on top this week? Everything I've read/heard about Company lore is that it's built on the concept of all the nations binding together for a common goal. Hell, even the art shows all 3 generals side by side facing the same direction. So yeah, I'm not concerned about it becoming a conquest type thing.
there can be story and to be honest the cs was cool.i'm so glad that the people complaining are seriously the minority.. With that said im expecting somethin new from this game, i played ffxi far to long. I just come back to 14 after i stoped playing a while ago and was hyped among other thins (my main priority was combat and i was pleasently surprised, altought needs a lot of polish and balancing)mainly about this new thin called companies being implemented.
I guess my expectations are to high for the player base here, but grand companies initiation failed way short for me.
And i express my discontent and ask of the new team to try different alternatives(like by example what they had in mind at start) for the direction of grand companies.
In a less nicer way than this i suppose.
but of course anyone who dont agree with every single thing the devs do is a hater .
This community i tell you.

I sugest you come to terms with it.
I wouldn't worry too much about the original idea being completly removed forever as there will always be room for more content down the road. Right now, they're trying to get people back with framiliarity and basics and that shouldn't be cause to complain.
I personally don't care too much if content is inovative. As long as it's fun and improves whatever it derives from, I'll enjoy it.
Yeah, it's more of a Campaign/Assault hybrid type system than conquest.I missed the entire conversation so far. Umm apart from the fact that you can join all 3 at the same time , at least IMO looks more like conquest with the qufim tower mission as the dungeon .i dont see the assault type of thin anywhere and is why i used the conquest reference.I missed the entire conversation so far. Anyways, I still want to see something innovative out of companies since everything else have been scratched.
otherwise, this is just another mmo without anything new to show and is something i would hate.
