People have long since realized that mindless grinding and excessive RNG aren't fun.
They are methods to frustrate the player in order to create the sensation of "reward" or "relief" when the frustration part finally ends.
That is CRAP DESIGN no matter how you slice it.
Gameplay by itself should be ENTERTAINING and not frustrating or boring.
