I don't mind it. It's not like there's hundreds of PF listings to go through. It's kind of nice to have something like a bulletin board which has traffic from an important use to get messages out.

What's with the Excalibur server? Do legacy servers get populated player more interested in messing with other players? They probably also get the trolls trying to sell housing lots to.
There is nothing wrong with the party finder. The problem is the people.
Sorry friend but this is not only in excalibur server so please, don't try to flame excalibur server because it's legacy(i can confirm in your server peoples does the same thing). The problem is not the people, is the lack of a system to announce sales / recruitment. Why do you think the party finder was put in the game? the reason was because players 90% of the time spam the shout / say / chats for partys and this is boring, and the same goes for players selling/recruiting players in party finder. Right now i see a lot of players recruiting players in party finder/chat so why not put a system for sells/FC recruitments? this not will hurt, will help all.

I know ingame I put in the recruitment page that you put up info on what your looking for and have been getting members. Though looks like you have to go to lodestone to actually look for the guilds to join. Also if the Free Company has a house you can look at the information to obtain information on the guilds on the placards. No, at least, not like there is in other games. In other games you can put your guild in a directory and if someone is guildless, they click on the button where their guild action *would* be and they can browse guilds. I don't think there is anything like that here. It would be immensely helpful though.
It's not going to solve the *real* problem that you are probably complaining about - there not being enough *actual* parties, but yea it will clean up the PF a bit.
I see maybe 1 or 2 out of 12 parties going in my pf most days asking for more recruits in their FCs, not sure how that added up to 70% of the time.
I think I see 1 sell run a week in pf...again..not sure how that ended up at 70% of the time.
Heck lately ive seen tanks and or healers or both together stating avoid those long dps queues for ninja and pay them to get you through it faster...but that's like 1 or 2 every other day this last week..again not sure how that's 70% of the time
I see a lot of DD runs for 50, atma farming, FE hunts, coerthas fate grind groups, lonely male miqo'te looking for a few female miqo'te ads...really I think its server/time related
but please don't say its 70% for the entire gaming community.
When i said the ENTIRE gaming community(or servers) is 70%? do you want me to take some SS here in excalibur server for future proofs? i can even show to you 70%+ of party finder with full sells/FC recruitmentI see maybe 1 or 2 out of 12 parties going in my pf most days asking for more recruits in their FCs, not sure how that added up to 70% of the time.

EternityFate is right that it's not just the legacy servers that have this happen. There will be selling (runs and items) and recruitment groups in PF on Siren too (non legacy, group 1, but not really that big).
I'm kinda thinking that it's because people got tired of hearing shout spam in Mor Dhona, so they moved it to party finder instead.
Every server is not reflected by your one single server, Our prices on the market board aren't the same as Excalibur, should I make a post stating that ALL MARKET BOARDS ARE INFLATED? All I was stating was the fact that its not the entire community at large, and I also stated a fact that it could be certain times/days that this is more noticeable i.e. weekends for example. As I have stated most of the stuff I see on my server is actual group finding parties going on. All I am asking is that you keep an open mind and realize, not every server is reflected by what's going on with your server. I see my server Leviathan very healthy in the normal use of party finder purposes and would put us at closer to 15% sells/fc recruiting messages.
As an afterthought, many FCs might be using it to recruit because they know a good amount of people never look at forums for recruiting info. Its the same with all mmos.
While it would be great to have a separate tab solely designed for FC recruiting, even I would place it low on the priority list of things needed in this game.

Just blacklist them if you really can't deal with it so it grays their entry out if it pops up again.
There's no easy way to restrict this. If you add something else, they'll just put it on both.
This has been discussed before and it's just complaining to complain. Is there a rule for the party finder to be used solely for your purposes? People party up for different reasons if you try to get out of your own little bubble.
"Through the Party Finder, you can either search for a party to join, or recruit other adventurers to form a party of your own."
People may want to hold a server event, spiritbind in urth's gift, atma farm, party up to party in costa del sol, RP as Ul'dah guards. Same goes to FC recruitment or selling whatever they like, they are looking to party up with people to discuss business. Just because they aren't doing what you think the party finder is for doesn't mean it's wrong. On another note, I'm on Balmung and the most returns I see on Party Finder is around 20-30 results, if that is too hard to look through, then you are just lazy, not to mention you can filter the results.
