The dreadlocks are highlander only right now, maybe next patch they will become available to everyone . But yes I agree I was disappointed too when miqotes got skipped with the side hairstyle lol.

Patches 2.35 & 2.38 were not major patches, these are filler "Quality of Life" patches with minor content changes.


Hair is usually saved for major patches IE. 2.1 > 2.2> 2.3 > 2.4



Of course it's intentional, once the graphics are finalised, they're not fond of changing them.

All we have to do is go on the Japanese forums and say how scary the boner tail is. They will change it like they did with the moogles.

Anyone promoting hairstyles for Miqo'te that don't cover the areas where a human's ears would be, I'm pretty convinced aren't aware of how disturbing it would look in practice. Well, except for the few who WANT to be disturbed, or want to use it to disturb others. XD

Catgirls in anime are exactly the same way; I challenge you to find one that doesn't have long hair on the sides covering up the lack of human ears. Heck, for some of the more tongue-in-cheek depictions of catgirls, such as "Asobi ni Iku yo!" the girls DO have human ears in addition to the cat ears.

Sideshave was added in 2.2. Dreadlocks were added in 2.3. It's been a long time since either of those hairstyles were first added, however you slice it.
