They already said though from the beginning before the game was out there will not be Open World PvP. If they bring PvP it will be more like FFXI Ballista than anything that or hopefully some type of arena thing. I would personally love to see some sort of open World PvP but I know it just isn't going to happen in this game.

Jumping I really want for 2 simple reason, mobility make it where I can jump up or down little ledges so I don't have to run a mile to get around something small. Also so they can add jumping into boss battles somehow, instead of the same ol boring tank and spank battles that plague NMs atm. Actually I can't really recall many battles in FFXI that wasn't pure tank and spank(minus a few where you had to kite adds around for alittle bit or each person takes a mob in BCNMs)

I use Tank and Spank loosely for FFXI, I remember battles where you had to use certain tactics on a boss for a small part of the fight like Shadowbind etc but there wasn't anything that took real coordination out of the fights I did. Just took knowing what you was doing and doing it well.

Could be an aspect of companies. Maybe Companies could be rivals... competing against each other... PVP would make sense and fit into that context.

Not really as it still doesn't fit into the basis of Final Fantasy unless your viewing Companies to be more akin to something like a gang fighting for turf and then that still doesn't truly fit in with the game. We have no true playable bad guys and because of that there is no reason to have open world PvP.

Listening to the players is not necessarily a bad thing. Although, I understand it is a matter of point of view regarding the subject at hand... Those who are for an outlook or plan the developers have are going to go "Yes, Yoshi-P is listening to us! What a great guy!" while those against are going to say "OMG He's caving! WTFBBQSauce!"

Case in point: If they weren't currently taking what players say seriously, jumping wouldn't even be on the table right now since it was originally laughed off by Tanaka as unnecessary while we continued to get stuck on pebbles and two foot ledges. So since Yoshi-P is considering adding jump you are like "Yes" but since he is saying he will take jump spam hate into account you are like "Dude, he's caving (Frownie Face)."

I'm sure they'll take whatever measures they deem best, it's their game they've poured years of work into, after all.

Maybe Tanaka will compromise and give us the duck-walk. =)

i think SE would have to do alot more work to add PvPing, when they lots of other things to be worked on like content quests, missions, as the game to me is theres not much to do
