Sooo since Cycle 3 will start casting soon, let's discuss some stuffz!

My cast size will be 12 models. What I would LIKE to do, is give someone else the responsibility of a Male model competition, and I take the girls, and then when we get to the final 3 of each of our casts, we pit them against each other. Anyone interested in taking the 12 male models under their wing? I will post the CASTING CALL thread, and then you can pick the guys and ill pick girls.

Also for Cycle 3, I was thinking either A) continue with this voting system, or B) Still eliminating a model each round, but keeping the points through each round. So model A gets 15 points in round 1, and 13 in round 2, so now she has 28 points. Model b has 20 in Round 1, but only 5 in round 2, so at 25 points she gets eliminated. B gives the models who score higher in other rounds a chance to survive after a weak photo, BUT I also recently heard a quote from Heidi Klum that said "A designer is only as strong as their recent design." so...a model is only as strong as their recent picture, which I agree with!

Honestly, as long as a model gets eliminated each round, I don't care which voting system we use. But I wanted to at least ask opinions, and if anyone sees any potential for cheating that I missed to let me know! ^^

    Comments? Thoughts?

I also want to cast 6 models for a Youtube version, where the judges have all the control. Think of it as Binding Coil of Bahamut version. xDD

I think you should really do away with requiring the competition to have a specific number from each race. I understand your whole point is to be fair to each race because there is bound to be more of some races then another applying. The problem is you're running into a situation where the less played races have an auto in past the preliminary rounds even if some of their shots are weaker then the other races (obviously this is opinion of what is weaker). This is a competition for who is the best model, if your shots are good you'll get through and shouldn't have to worry about what race you are.

The best example of this to me is the Lala female competition this time. I thought the 3 that were picked from the beginning all had very strong shots and from what I've seen of Kuchichi's shows she had posted past those rounds even though she was eliminated could have gone much farther into the competition. I would have voted for all 3 Lala females if given the option in those preliminary rounds.

Another thing I think you should consider doing for next round is giving a specific area on a map for the models to use as their set. One of the big problems I see in the competition is the backgrounds are giving too much of an influence to who is being chosen. I think a great way to eliminate that issue is to give an area on a map that you must take the picture within. The models can use that area on the map anyway they want to create the shot. However, they must stay within that location on the map for the shot. This gives everyone the same set/background to work with and will test how good of a model they are as opposed to just how good of a background picture they can find to one up someone else.

    For example:

The models must take a _________ themed shot within this location on the map.

This would be a great idea for any preliminary round or one of the first rounds. Showcasing the models on an equal playing field.

However if wanted for later round usage i'd suggest broader areas such as one particular zone like it must be taken in "South Shroud" or "any zone in Thanalan" (as examples). This would up the game a bit for the models to make their own decisions on background which becomes important as the rounds get harder.

I definitely agree models should be able to make their own decisions on backgrounds for some of the rounds because that adds creativity to the mix and will ultimately give you a wider range of photos. So the themes of Rivers, Dates, and NPC partners allow for creativity, but also having rounds where there are specific sets to work within gives back to the model side. I'm sure someone could also be creative within designated areas given as well.

Having a good mix of the two would make things more interesting.

I definitely like the giving back to the model side of things as I think that has been forgotten on a few occasions. Point made How fun would it be to have to do a shoot in the Sapsa spawning grounds. *evil giggle*

I had such mixed feelings about my submission for this round, I feel a need to share images I almost used and didn't. Please pardon the conversation interruption!

This image I took back in beta was my inspiration. In retrospect, I almost wish I used a pose with a feel more similar to this...

Came so close to submitting this one instead; didn't for a variety of reasons. I'm quite fond of the sun though, so!

And because I just recalled someone asked, these were taken in Brayflox's Longstop. /end interruption

Haha, thanks! ;w; Duly noted. I honestly find it extremely difficult to adjust to Kin looking different, but the dark hair seemed to be one of those love it or hate it things. Heard quite a bit of both, ha...

(I don't know, though. If the new race is Gria, I might finally use my Fantasia.)

I like the round by round elimination. However, maybe implement a "model save" option that can be used once during the competition. Where the judges can unanimously vote to save the person about to be voted off, thus having no elimination that round and having two the next or making the save round the non-elimination one. This would give a consistently strong model a second chance if they happen to have a bad screenshot. And being a one shot deal, it can't be abused.

I like the voting system we have in place now. I think having a solid judge panel will also help with consistency and keeping things Kosher. They all need to commit and vote every round. Judges scores should be the balance to any vote padding from the general public side of things as well.

pls explain the youtube thing more please. not sure what you mean

Oops, didn't mean to forgetcha Tins!
The only reason I wont do this is because it negates the Voters votes, which is cruel, and it shows Judge Bias-ness even if only for 1 round. It would, no WILL, bring up controversy and hard feelings on all sides of the contest. As Heidi said, a model is only as strong as their recent shot! I'm gonna use that for every round a top girl gets in the bottom. >_>; lol
