    so those i70 crafting gloves. . .

Topic 18: The Ixali Gloves are weak!
Ixali quests were designed for new crafters not existing hardcore crafters, so gloves aren't OP

    ^^
I'm surprised no one picked up on this lil tidbit from the newsletter...
I guess this means no +3 CP to the i70 crafting gloves?

Nope, instead you get more control and craftmanship. Even max melded the gloves are better. Sure, I would rather give up the 3 CP for more control and craftmanship any day.

They aren't i70. Maybe i65 but not i70. That answer was such a pathetic cop out. You don't gain any craftsman ship, you loose 3 cp for a + to control that won't effect any crafts in a positive way, it's completely unnoticeable control gain. The 3 cp is always going to be better (unless your trying to do 3 star without the I 70 wpn. And without fc buffs)

I was under the assumption they were talking about the level 1 wristgloves that need to be used in all the quest recipies and how it makes crafting the last tier items extremely hard (as seen in the "A High Wind in Ishgard" thread).

    This^^

Anyhow, the lack of +3 cp is still on the accepted bugs list. Although I wonder if it will be addressed (either improved or rejected) before the xpac hits.

Next on Delusional Crafters we will have an 'expert' who will present evidence that Square Enix will boost Tier IV materia rates, and a specialist who will tell us why Manipulation is bugged and needs to be fixed

    I called it!
TLDR: There is a reason the Ixal gloves are missing the "Artisan" title. They are not BiS.
Hopefully the Artisan gloves/gear is slated to arrive in 2.4

It actually is in the accepted bugs forum, which means someone at SE moved it there and is in the queue to be "looked at".

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nds-missing-CP

doesn't mean they'll change it, just means it's in line to be looked at. And I was thinking, that even then, I don't know how fast they go through that forum, so it's quite likely it will linger there for another 6 months till the expansion where it won't make any difference whatsoever.

And to expand upon the "this" which seems to have confused you. I was merely agreeing that this was the way I originally read the translation. Weak and OP seem odd ways of describing gloves that trade +3cp for +4(?)ctl from fully melded gloves, although I can how that may just be a limitation of the translation.

But I'm glad you provided your 'expert' opinion on the matter, it was very helpful.

I figure they're really pretty good gloves, though not the best possible, usable on all classes, and practically free (if you were going to do the quests anyway like many people). I'd imagine they're an upgrade on at least some crafting classes for nearly every player, though it is annoying for a new "i70" item to be statistically inferior or on par with an i55 item.

Sorry, I was at work when I typed this last and didn't have access to the gear calculator at the time. Yes, it's 4 CP for 3 Control without the need to attempt to max meld your other gloves, and it's usable on all your crafting jobs. I don't see how that's not a great trade off! What move are you going to get out of 4 CP? ANY amount of control increases your ability to get HQ!
