Spirit bond speed

Hi there.
I'm necroing this thread to post an observation and a question:

+ Spirit bond stat: Does that even work at all?
Binding ilvl 45 NQ (no materia) nets me 1% per lv 49 mobkill, no matter whether I have +5 Bond (2x Aether rings + potion) or +0.
Binding ilvl 55 NQ (1 Materia) nets me 1% every 2 mobs, no matter whether I have +5 Bond (2x Aether rings + potion) or +0.

Did you bond them all the way and count the total number, or just keep track for a short stretch of kills? Spiritbond +5 isn't a major boost to rate, but you will see a difference. Other things that can throw you off are choco out, being in party, someone else getting in on your kill, different levels of mobs.

I was solo and binding speed was constant over a rather large portion.
Also, this was not the first experiment I did. 1hr per set seems to be the norm for me.

Maybe the stat only affects binding via synthesis? (Never tested that after I saw the ridiculously slow progress on my ilvl 55 stuff and estimated the shard amount needed)
