Well there is always the option of transferring to a server with less ppl on it, we have tons of space still. Just an option not saying you have too.
Well there is always the option of transferring to a server with less ppl on it, we have tons of space still. Just an option not saying you have too.
Let's all take a step back and really look at this:
Currently on the lodestone it reads over 2.5 million players (we all know this isnt true)
nov 2013 600k players (posted on forums some where)
Jan/feb 2014 500k players stated by yoshi
at the same time Yoshi has yet to reveal the current subscription numbers from feb 2014 til now (none that I have read)
Now Yoshi said they get 500k logins everyday, but is that per world or for all the worlds, and secondly is that taking into account all the players that get random disconnects and or 90ked?
My estimate is 400k players currently, to the point XIV is bleeding subscriptions still. So if the game had 2.5 million players and we have only 400k or less concurrent subscriptions than XIV has lost over 75% of those who purchased this game and XIV has a retention rate of less than 25%.
Now lets look at what he has said in regards to resources: #1. XIV is still bleeding subs so funds are not there, #2. The share holders are demanding that they see an immediate return which would also take away from those resources, or #3. both or all of the above.
I choose number 3 because I believe or think that is what the issue is and thats why the resources isnt there because the funds to add new server's is being taken to please investors. This also makes sense due to the fact that they are charging for retainer's as well as the phantasia's. So the question comes down to what is the problem how do they resolve it or do they continue to lose subscriptions till the game dies because of bad desicions that tick off their player base? Let's not forget most of the content has been re-used which is fine to and extent but at what point do we see actually new content that dosent require us to use low level dungeons/fate's etc.
This is how I see it I could be wrong but it dose make sense. Now unless they mean that they have had 2.5 million in sales than they need to change that on the lodestone because that is deceptive to the consumer/s. Now yes resource's could be anything but considering they dont go into detail in regards to exactly what resources they are missing or they could be saying this resource but its actually (resource of) funds we dont know.

Well, SE isn't structured like your average American company where the shareholders have management by the *ahem*. If it was, we'd never have seen ARR. It would have been scrapped. Now, I don't disagree with your thoughts (re: bleeding subs. Mine is one) but I do think we are looking at more than a 500k playerbase. XI had 500k at its high point and didn't have server load issues like we see here, so gauging their previous experience and slightly higher expectations for this game, I believe they would have accounted for a larger average population.
I also don't think the cash is going to line the pockets of a few shareholders like American companies do. I think that YoshiP is just genuinely out of touch with what the players are expecting of him. Perhaps he became arrogant after the initial success of the relaunch and now believes that he cannot fail. Perhaps he is just getting terrible advice. Perhaps it's time he was locked in a room with Tanaka to get back on track (Tanaka has his faults, but I can't forget all of the experiences we were brought in XI on his watch). Most of all, I think he just needs to bring in some consultants who are familiar with the landscape, but are also familiar with the elements of XI that worked so well.
SE is really overthinking this. Simple fluff content for everyone to enjoy. Gate furniture pieces behind content. Add quests for the house. Allow small scale hobbies like gardening in flowerpots. Stop trying to keep materials artificially rare just because RL has turned everything into a business transaction.
Server transfers should only be used to reunite with friends, not solve raiding and housing dilemmas. I did a round of server transfers for a name change, and once I got to the new server my constant companions were feelings of loneliness and isolation. An effective solution should not deprive the player of the community he has grown increasingly attached to.

Server transfers are used to fix issues like that, though they usually end up free (high pop -> low pop).Server transfers should only be used to reunite with friends, not solve raiding and housing dilemmas. The title of this thread should be changed to mirror the live translation:
“I cannot buy a house!! Lend me some money Yoshida!!”
"However, reading this again, I realize that this statement is extremely unclear. Also, because I wrote this quickly to try to quell the uneasiness at the time, I ended up causing even more problems for everyone. I sincerely apologize for this."
This right here is our biggest problem with this game. Yoshi thinking that every time someone cries about anything in the game he has to have a hasty response which imo starts a precedent of sloppiness when it comes to patches, If only they would take their time, look at the game and stop making promises that can't be delivered. Accept the fact that hardcore players and casual players will never agree and will never always be happy with your decisions. Build a game for players to enjoy without trying to appease each and every crowd. Anyone who doesn't like or care for it can just go back to whatever game they were playing before any major patches or updates get released.
As i understood afrter 2.4 we will have 64*48*6*3=> 55,296 small plots total in all worlds summary. 1/2 of them are already occupied. I am not sure that it will be enough for all.
When they wrote in July that plot prices are based on amount of gil in the worlds it seemd to be normal - i bought house at Jul 15 - not just after expansion patch and i had many variants to choose in Lav Beds and Mist and very many in The Goblet. But in September situation in my world changed - even large houses were sold out. I think that something was changed in gil circulation.
