Most interesting thing to me in there is the last slide which shows the ratio or healer: dps: tank. While we seem to think there's a tank shortage out there, I wonder if it's really a healer shortage?
Most popular sex: Female!
Most popular race: Hyur!!
Most popular job: White Mage!!
Most popular GC: Twin Adders!!
The data isn't too accurate since it does by class not job. So every scholar is getting counted as a dps as opposed to a healer.
I also enjoy how they are seemingly counting just the classes people have at 50, so you see the gap between all jobs slowly close to make it seem like everyone is playing about them half half.
In reallity Palladin remains the dominant tank while the dominant tank players have went off to level more jobs out of sheer boredom, likewise between WHM and Scholar.
the trouble is stuff like this don't reflect the reality... they are indeed usefull tool of information... but are not reality. i think the trouble lie there, they take this data like they are the mirror of the truth... when most of them are simply silly and don't relfect anything close of our reality.
they are dangerous data in a way, it why we did get the personal housing like this... worst this data don't represent what we think or want or need..
i really think they must avoid to act like some technocrate that only look at number and ignore reality.
Actually, to me it suggests they pulled numbers out of thin air and thought "Everyone must be rich by now".Suggests they actually did a proper job working out how much Gil players have actually; 428 billion divided among 2 million players is a pathetic amount. For him to have been surprised some people only have 300 thousand suggests the numbers he saw were based off of proper statistics.
After all, if dividing that sum up evenly results in a horribly low sum, then it's clear that a far smaller number have the Lion's share of the wealth. Thus, only a few are considered 'rich' while the majority should be considered poor. Even taking into account active accounts versus inactive, it's still a pitiful sum of gil overall which only goes to show how out of touch they must've been when working on their maths.
Agree some slides are a bit pointless.
The most common items slides should be changed to most useless items slides lol
Also, the most common mounts slides should be changed to "you know the answer if you can only train your chocobo..."
Really, these slides identify certain problems in game. Especially if the devs really do play the game outside of development, they would see what needs a good revision. Some of the slides they are being proud of but if they were players they would see the glaring problems.
This data is highly inaccurate if you try to compare it to the reality, they are counting up people who don't play anymore and are also counting bots.
