Those weren't just regular Gysahl Greens. Nay, they were 100% naturally grown, Kosher, Halal, sun ripened, non-GMO, organic Gysahl Greens!
Totally worth the price premium for the good health of your chocobo.

Well, its great for when you want something NOW, and not having to google, go to FF14 wiki, find which NPC sells this, and port then still must walk it off to find this said NPC. Its all imaginary money, when someone wants something NOW, they will pay, same goes in real world. We all pay for convenience.
That's the thing though... The NPC that sells these is practically right next to the Market Board in Limsa, and a short walk away for Ul'dah and Gridania. Same for Dark Matter; the NPC you can buy these from in town is right next to the Market Board.Well, its great for when you want something NOW, and not having to google, go to FF14 wiki, find which NPC sells this, and port then still must walk it off to find this said NPC. There is no looking this stuff up, or searching for it on the Market Board for me. It's just common knowledge where these NPCs are and going to them and buying a stack is far quicker than going through the Market Board UI...
I wouldn't say people are paying for convenience, it's more like they're being taxed for being <insert preferred insult here>.

Stupid people sure have a lot of money to waste these days. Maybe it's time to clean out the NPC stores and resell them for a massive profit? The poor storeowner will think there's a chocobo famine on the way!
Then how do you explain people that sell for less than what the NPC asks for?

Less than NPC purchase prices, or less than NPC sale prices? If it's purchase price, then it could be that it was given as a quest reward, or something crafted where supply far exceeds demand. If it's less than the sale price... not paying attention...? ^^;

or it could be this.
I see this on a few items that are commonly sold on NPC in that are sold on Auction house sometimes for a lot of gil, I bet you anything this is house they get around by buying gil.
They put a item up for 500k the gil seller buys the item then deletes their character.
That is what I think.
