Suggestion: Mount> Cloud's Bike

Many of the same people come and talk about 'lore' and 'immersion' but it always seams to boil down to, "I DON'T LIKE IT, SO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!!!"

I don't agree. Some want it, some don't - it's a thread pretty much filled with arguments for each side, and I don't see nothing wrong with either one of them. You call it 'I DON'T LIKE IT, SO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!!!', so in those words I could very much say the people I disagree with here go 'I WANT IT, SO YOU JUST SUCK IT UP!!!' - but it aint that way, not with most of the people argumenting here anyway. A discussion will always have two sides, and it's allowed to have opinions and explain those opinions.

Although it'd be interesting (And if was of garlean design, perhaps probable.) I couldn't see it operating in the same way as mounts currently do. A mount can turn mid direction where a bike being two wheels would have to do a wide turn. They can stop in place where a bike would come to a slow. Mounts can jump too which, unless this bike has crazy suspension would be unable to do by itself. Overall it just wouldn't work in a believable setting without having to make a whole customized handling system and severely limiting where the bike could be used. Play a game with bikes in it, note the handling, and then compare it to that of how mounts are handled in the game already. It just wouldn't work without looking awfully ridiculous.

Personally I'm ok with this idea. It could be fun. However if it never happens I'm ok with that too. It's just one of those things.

I'm sorry I'm going to have to disagree with your statement, since it's a very sweeping generalization of what might or might not be going on in this thread... plus everyone is entitled to their opinion on this matter.

Would I be butt hurt if "Cloud's specific" bike got added? Absolutely not, do I think it makes sense with the current lore? No I do not, see?

In a world where a Tarutaru can teleport to our dimension and cause a ruckus, giant brick men appear looking nothing like our golems, and a pink-haired woman seemingly teleports in and out of existence from another dimension as well, I don't think a motorcycle dropping in from another world would be of a lore concern. These appearances are just for the sake of crossovers and fans, so I don't see why Cloud's motorcycle would need a lore friendly reason beyond "Ather portal brought it". Honestly I would like to see it but I'm just not expecting much if they decided to do it and make a crossover attempt.

Just wait till SE brings cloud into ARR.. XD

Although I'd rather have such an item come from ARR's world itself, I mean ... what Cloud comes into the game and says "thanks for battling the FATEs with me here's my bike!" lol.

Perhaps a middle point would be earning the blueprints or a photo of it (say cloud sitting on/near the bike with the FFVII team) that can be a housing item but if you show ARR's Cid he will go nuts (jelly Cid) and start a project you can help with to produce an ARR infused Fenrir (assuming a FFVII event happens in ARR).

A motorcycle mount? Sure, maybe one day...

Clouds specific bike he uses? More than likely never. I'm all for the Fan service, and FF X-overs, but Yoshi already said certain Final Fantasy games would never touch Eorzea because their storyline is already closed and would never make sense. One of his examples back in the Beta days was specifically FF7. So I really don't ever see Cloud's anything ending up in FFXIV:ARR.
