    1. double click enemy to engage (awful because often click wrong enemy and engage random mobs)

    2. click then press enter, very sluggish and still you are not in lock on mode

    3. click then press ability (regardless of whether you have sufficient tp) and engage enemy.

My biggest issue besides being too slow and clumsy to use in high intensity and clustered situations is that we now have to essentially use "c" to lock on every time now instead of having our light slash, etc do it instead.

This is a topic for discussion and is in no way trolling/flaming/w/e you want to call it.

    This is my OPINION
I haven't been able to play for more than 15 minutes, but in that 15 minutes I managed to engage in grueling combat versus a level 1 squirrel. I agree it feels clunky, and I think the best fix now that auto attack is in the game is to adopt the standard mouse controls from other MMOs. This would mean Left-click = select target and camera control, right-click = initiate auto attack and character control.

It's the signs. we're not used to what is it to fight an enemy and not fight it. So far I just spam a macro or lots of inputs.

I think a little more visual feedback would be nice.

Ive been playing with keyboard + mouse, and I haven't encountered any problems yet.
Everything works just the way I want it to be
I have no problem targeting and fighting, only problem is..buffs x)
If the monster walks closer while I'm still buffing, because of AA, I start hitting it before all the buffs are done xD
Not so great :/ But oh well, I'll just have to get used to not selecting any mobs yet before I even used buffs.

I'm kinda flustered with the whole thing about being in distance of the mob in order to AA. Why don't they just put an "attack" button or something that immediately locks on, and with the push of another alternative button, can lock off, that way we can scale around the monster. I think I need to just get used to it. lol

Once you get used to it, you'll see that's actually how it works. You click once to target, click again to engage.

If you change the target setting to "floating" the arrow above the targeted enemy is solid when you first target it, and when you click again the arrow becomes an outline. That means you'll AA when you get close enough.

that's all good but I just want to make sure you guys are aware that doesn't fix how cumbersome clicking around (especially twice) is when intense battle situations occur.

A simple right click for engaging, left click for selecting is very favorable =(

I agree, just remember to wear your blindfold for all the "ZOMG WOW CLONE" rage that we'll see here should SE adopt such a system.

Well, I didn't try much on mouse. I was referring to controller. Do you just have to click twice to actually engage?

Maybe it should have separate ways of doing it with mouse/key board vs. controller. Highlight once with controller, click again to engage vs. highlight once with left click, engage with right click, and skip directly to right click to engage if you need to.
