I agree. We should not be allowed to break the confines of a thousand characters per post. The limit is there, along with daily post limits, to ensure no one voice is heard too loudly. By not properly limiting this it has only made sure that impatient posters waste their daily allotment while seasoned forum veterans can sit in comfort and make very verbose replies therein to their peers and academic adversaries. Furthermore it makes one wonder why the limit exists in the first place if it is not enforced upon all users. The injustice of breaking 1k characters should not be allowed to stand. This also reflect ingame protocol: nobody talks in extremely verbose fashion in the ingame chat. It is always broken up until multiple lines. Multiple lines should also be required in forum posts. It is also agreed potato that nobody wants to read an exceptionally long post. Making such a long and wordy statement is likely to get people to skip or ignore key points of one's argument instead of staying succinct and to the point.
