LOL! That was great. I love the ending. Bravo!

    Yoshida,

Word of advice from a business manager.

Don't alert your clients to bad news after the "news" is already old.

People will distrust you and disbelieve happyshiny news from you in the future.

Buck up and get it over with sooner rather than later.

Hey, in 2.4 rogue/ninja are released though.

    Except...
Requirements: Must have beaten T5. (read: have enough gil to buy house)
SE: "We made it easier to beat T5 with echo and higher ilvl and no more weekly lockout" (read: we added so many ways for people to easily make more gil)

Addtionally, due to the queue times of DPS, only 150 people will be allowed to unlock rogue initially:
    - The first 120 people who have beaten T5 (read: small houses)
    - The first 30 people who have beatern T9 (read: large houses)

To make it easier for people to be eligible for unlocking rogue, once a week the requirement will be reduced by 1 turn until the minimum requirement is only to have beaten T1. (read: the prices will drastically drop over time)

With patch 2.45, an additional 380 people will be allowed to unlock rogue. (read: more housing instances added in 2.4)

Ridiculous sounding, huh? So was implementation of personal housing....

I personally don't disagree with prices of personal housing being equal to FC housing if the exact same features are available to either (so for example, if I own my own house then I can build a personal airship if/when that is ever released). I do feel that the restriction on wards, even when they plan to add more in the future, completely missed the mark. What I think should have happened was to provide multiple options.

    - Don't want/need/care about a house but want a little something to decorate? Get a personal room with extremely limited features (already implemented)
    - Want a house to yourself with some limited features? Buy a single house and yard instance. No neighborhood, just a place to decorate and garden (must have gardening which is a major feature people wanted).
    - Have a lot of extra gil and want to let everyone know? Want neighbors? Buy a personal house in the FC wards where you have access to everything a FC has access to with their homes.

These options could provide some relief on a lot of the issues people have and it's actually not too late to do something like this. The personal house could be much more reasonable price for most people (1-2 mil static price like personal rooms).

The biggest failure, imo, on this content is the lack of wards. Because I was sleeping when the patch went live ... since, ya know, I have a job I have to go to so I can pay to play ffxiv ... if I wanted a small house they weren't even available on my server by the time I got home from work. The price is annoying but this is where they screwed up.

Asking for resignation is really a bit too much. The producer made a wrong decision regarding the personal housing system, this is pretty much obvious to everyone. I just hope the development team see that they really made a bad move and start to think of measures to fix things out. That's what I really rope from the people who are in charge of this game that I came to like this much.

my 2gil? The only reason I'm still here is because the Final Fantasy franchise did enough to pull at my heart between FF2-FF11 to get me to basically put up with any level of complete BS this company throws at me. Every time my resolve is tested - either with transforming power ranger summons from FF13 or an extremely disappointing roll-out of a feature (housing) that is a huge investment into the aesthetic and QOL of your character - I keep coming back. You've got me square.

But I feel like you are my kid. While you were absolutely heartwarming and adorable from ages 1-11, by the time you started becoming a teenager, you started to suck. Clearly you can't manage your own time yet and some of your personal choices are questionable at best. Your mother and I feel that you are straying away from what makes you you.

I have one friend with 100 million gil.
I have another friend with 1 million gil.
Their average gil is over 50 million per player, therefore it makes sense to make housing prices that assume every player has 50 million gil to spare.

Monitoring average without accounting for wealth distribution is a fantastic idea.

Actually, I think the JP's have the right of it this time. It takes a lot for the Japanese playerbase to revolt, but behavior like this is a clear indication that the producer has lost touch.

First, the player housing should not have been on the same scale as the Free Company housing. It devalues the achievement, for those who want to look at it that way.

Second, the prices for the individual and the group should not have been the same. If inflation is the reason the prices are the same as the FC prices, the FC prices should have gone up to adjust for inflation.

Third, the string of lies has to end. Ok, so it didn't work out the way you planned. Maybe there was something completely different in the works, but something was discovered that made that impossible and instead they decided to do some damage control and throw us *something*. That something is the worst thing they could have done, but the players would have a lot more understanding and sympathetic if YoshiP had come and said

"Listen, what we wanted to do isn't going to work\someone at the top canceled it\infrastructure limits it, so here is a workaround for the moment while we sort it all out".

No, he just dropped this on us like it was something new and exciting, only a handful of players can participate, and the NA playerbase is defending him?

I'm with the JPs on this one. Between the Frontlines problems, Atma complaints, Hunts problems, Scripted battles, Lag problems, and now the Housing fiasco not to mention the apparent refusal to open a test server to catch some of this stuff before it's live - it's a pattern. It's not just one thing he's messed up - it's things he has willfully and systematically implemented that are completely broken.

It's decisions like this that I just can't wrap my head around. Whoever is responsible for suggesting to base housing pricing off of average gil per person on a server should be canned. Did anyone on the dev team even raise questions about this? I just don't understand how something that is obviously such a terrible idea makes it all the way to production.

So what happened in this game is literally a 180-degree U-turn from the previous Squenix MMO, where your home is given to you right when your character is "born" and stays with you for all the years you might have played that game.

Personal Housing isn't a right in other MMOs but considering FFXI it should have been a birthright in FFXIV. Instead it's...yeah.

    Ugh.
To be fair, in FFXI, the Mog House is the equivalent of the Inn Room in FFXIV, which is available to players within the first hour of questing.
