Seriously. A tiny, instanced home with a couple planters for up to 4 plants would have been more than sufficient, and could easily have been more affordable while evading lock outs entirely.
Better go buy some gil so you can get a home before the rest of the plots are taken.
Every patch has some insane disappointment in it or causes a huge upset for a giant portion of the playerbase.
What is going on SE? Are you really that disconnected from us?
Honestly, you guys have me wondering.
I love this game, but I feel like you sucker punch me in the gut every single patch, small & large.
We're barely still friends, if you keep it up, sooner than later I'll have to call an end to the abuse.
It's not cool being mistreated over & over by someone you call a friend, or who once really acted like one.
I feel frequently disrespected & hurt by your actions SE, I don't know what to do about it or if I should let it keep happening to me.
Please reform fast.

They really should have spent the last nine months working on instanced housing, rather than twiddling their thumbs doing absolutely nothing.
Take the current 3 Inn NPCs, give them the option of letting us buy and customize a room, give that room a nice balcony looking over the city (Ul'dah), ocean (Limsa), or lake (Gridania) that can fit a small garden equivalent. Oh look, problem solved.
Housing Ward Housing would just remain for Free Companies and the rich/lucky.
Given that Personal Housing was frequently delayed, I'd really love to know what exactly they've been working on. What was delayed exactly? There is nothing here which couldn't have been in 2.1... I'm past the anger, I'd just really love to know what exactly kept them from implementing this in any of the updates after 2.1. Did they really just brainstorm the price for nine f*cking months, only to decide to do nothing with the price? Only SE...

I find this funny because in the business world when you get a quotation or estimate from a supplier it's always only valid for a certain amount of time. I guess we just have to assume that there is a time limit when it comes to statments made by the development team due to the constantly changing economy in this game but that doesn't change the fact that they didn't say anything until the patch was released. That's great....now next time one of my customers asks me for an estimate for the services he's trying to get, I'll tell him "that price was valid until lunchtime, sorry I forgot to tell you....now it's afternoon so price has risen" and hope he's all fine and dandy with it.
Every last bit of this. MMH.They really should have spent the last nine months working on instanced housing, rather than twiddling their thumbs doing absolutely nothing.

You know, from everything that's in that post...
...can someone tell me how this piece of logic is any sort of relevant, when all and every single plot is snatched up way before that one month is over? I mean, yeah, it's nice and all, but in practice it means about as much as...nothing.
This.
It's pretty much just useless blabber from the producer to hide the fact that they have absolutely zero plans and no intent of fixing the issue in any shape or form.
The whole thing affects FCs way more than single players since their chance of housing was taken away. Meanwhile essentially everyone else in the game still have no housing that was promised.
End result: FCs were screwed over and the whole promise of personal housing was completely shat on.
The only thing that matters here is that there is no fix coming and housing is now ruined for everyone not already having one.
I'm not at all surprised. They've mucked up every patch since I came back: Glamours, Chocobo training, Chocobo dyeing, hunts, AF augments. The dev team are worse than any I've seen at releasing fun content in a fun manner. Everything has to be super difficult and frustrating because they are incapable of making actual challenging content. Don't even get me started no their stupid vertical progression setup.
The funny thing is:
Housing is instanced, but they had to do the entry point instanced too because some problems when doing it open world (or so they say).
We are porting into an instance (maybe other server too) just to get to the entry point, then we port "into" our housing, which is instanced again...
Even browsergames have better systems...
Hm... since Wada left its getting worse with each patch... true!
