You can easily make about 500k+ a day if you try, I work most of the day and I can still make about 200k.
I kinda think that if you can't figure out how to make gil you should before getting a house, everyone shouldnt get one for free by logging in.

Instead of making 50 posts about this, go make gil and get your house.

The thing is that it is incongruous with other games that either give you easy access to a home (wildstar) or give it to you from the start for free (FFXI). The expectations some people have for player housing aren't exactly outlandish.

You must not have read much beyond that post... The issue isn't so much with the cost. The issue is that less then 1% of players will even have a chance at getting a house! even after doubling the current number of wards. Not to mention that higher populated servers still have tons of FCs that need plots.

So, no, it's not "go make gil and get your house" it's "pray you can get to a plot in time next update"

I have already said that I agree with the people complaining about limitations of the plots (or maybe i didn't in this thread, but that is rather silly)
But a lot of people complain that it's too expensive which it isn't. If there were unlimited plots, or at least one per account and the prices were like they are now some people would still complain about it. But to me that makes perfect sense.

Look guys, I never ever thought I would utter his name ever again, but OMG. This whole housing BS reminds me of...Tanaka. I mean seriously. Over hype and under deliver was his signature and housing was just that. Yoshi kept clamoring about how awesome it would be and got us all excited. Look what happened. It's Tanaka all over again. Yoshi used to be so transparent, but something happened. We got nothing leading up to housing. He went all silent and stuff. I wish he just woulda said "Hey dudes, we had this mega awesome plan, (outlines plan), but I realize it's a little over ambitious. We'll delay housing till 2.4 so it'll be done right." Sure it would piss people off, but I GUARANTEE it wouldn't be as bad is it is now.

But naw, he says one thing, claims it was misconstrued, yet does NOTHING to correct our views until AFTER the patch notes were released. WTF Yoshi.

I can understand SE is a business, I know they wanna make as much money as they can. But seriously, if you pay to upgrade your POS servers from 2000, it will pay for itself over time because our subs will pay for it....or should...

Additionally, the original time frame for reaching the lowest land price was three months, which we shortened to one month. Due to this, the prices of land drop several tens of thousands of gil every six hours. After one month the price would be half of what it was originally.

...can someone tell me how this piece of logic is any sort of relevant, when all and every single plot is snatched up way before that one month is over? I mean, yeah, it's nice and all, but in practice it means about as much as...nothing.
