Well great, but I think 99% of this forum will believe it when they see it! I am not even hoping for it, because honestly while miracles do happen..with SE all you really get are apologies. You know the total number of plots available now? They're working to double that for 2.4, with the option to release many, many more because they know that what they currently have isn't enough. It was all they were able to release right now due to technical limitations.
I'd rather have 10 minutes of wonderful, than a lifetime of nothing special.
You clearly misunderstood this. Giving every player a small house (every smaller, as the small FC houses), with one garden and their own chocobo isn't the SAME as giving 180 people a small FC house, while everyone else feels just *** up. You want to decrease the overall amount of Gil out there? Make the houses cost 4-5-6-10 millions, idc. But if someone has the money and decides to buy a house, give them the choice to do that. Or if you don't want to, then remove the exclusive housing content, make a general chocobo stable in every city and make the gardening items obtainable somehow else.
So... why release something totally half-baked..? Just to see everyone get pissed off and laugh? Doesn't seem like a good business model. And also, many other games have implemented housing on a large scale from the get-go. To me it sounds like they just don't want to fork over the 10k USD or whatever for another database server until they absolutely have to. /eyerollYou know the total number of plots available now? I sure am glad that the grocery store doesn't check the bank accounts of the surrounding neighborhoods before deciding what to charge for my basket of goodies!! What is the point of trying to save up money for a luxury purchase if the price only goes up in relation to how much you have saved? We get what you're saying Yoshi, we just think it's slightly Communist.

Myself i had been saving up ( at the time some numbers like 850K was mentioned as a possibility) so was trying to save up like a mil, but to see that it would cost me like 3 or 4 mil, yeah i guess i will just buy lots of glam with the money i do have instead
And the whole talk about plots, there is still plenty available as it is
Then the prices temporarily become cheap, and then people who have been waiting for the prices to go down buy them resulting in a price reset where they become even more expensive than they were in the beginning?!
I agree with instanced mog house think of FFXI... that system worked great and don't have to pay for the housing. .. and away with INN and let us do what we want: storage our armors where retainer x4 isnt enough really. .. able to craft in mog house and that solve everybody problem.

After looking about some characters who feel they are the 99%, having high end minions like blue birds, every mount the game has, and fancy glamour gear; you might want to rethink how you save up money for a "feature I've been waiting for since launch."

So that you know exactly what's coming?
I mean, all the players pissed off about volume would still need to wait just as long, however this implementation requires them to not be babies about it.
Other games probably implemented housing as being large scale from the beginning. And also, many other games have implemented housing on a large scale from the get-go. I have absolutely no idea what the technical limitation is. But from the sound of it, they originally built the system to only support FC housing with the idea that personal housing would be instanced. However, as they designed the personal houses further, they pretty much wanted to add everything that was in an FC house to the personal house, so they decided to put them in the same wards as the FC housing. However, they needed to rework the FC housing implementation to accommodate a lot more wards than originally intended. So now they're stuck reworking their original system. The rework will not be in till a minimum of 2.4, so we're stuck waiting. Until then we get a "preview" of sorts of exactly what the personal housing will entail, so you can start saving/planning/whatever right now and know exactly what you're working toward. If they didn't release at all till 2.4, there would still be some question as to what personal housing was exactly.
Anyhow, if you want to get on their case about being short sighted with their original FC implementation, then go for it. But all this whining about them "choosing" to only release a couple wards is stupid, it was beyond their control at that point. And it's better they release it now so everybody knows exactly what it is instead of having questions on what personal housing entails and/or how much needs to be saved for it.

Parz3val's personal housing comment is exactly how I thought it would be... We should have our own area for personal housing and cottages or something. This as laziness on SE's part. They have hurts 99% of their player base with their logic.
