Increase the problem with RMT.... More ppl are going to buy gil so they can afford the housing. And about the comment about secondary characters Make houses account wide if players so wish to do so.

Yeah, this is one reason I really don't believe his "clarification" to begin with. It's not like they haven't had close to a year to correct this "misconception." With how hush-hush they kept information about housing, compared to even the bare-bones previews we got of things mark hunts, I have a hard time believing this was incompetent communication as opposed to keeping us in the dark because they knew we'd hate this and trying to cover their rears now that the forums are blowing up.
Okay, so reading the post that Yoshida made regarding the "why's" for most of them I can nod my head and be like "okay I get why you did that" even though there were decisions made that I don't agree with.
However the one that really makes me raise my eyebrow and go "huh?" is the reasoning for putting both types of housing in the same wards. While the reason given is a potential problem, their solution to that creates guaranteed problems regarding pricing and balancing that in the long run. If pricing is balanced for FC's then the prices will be too high for your average singular player. If pricing is based on singular players then the houses will quickly be bought up by wealthier singular players leaving no empty lots for new or future FC's. Try to balance for both at the same time and it creates a strange middle ground that essentially has both the problems that I just went over.
By lumping them together it fixes one issue but creates a number of others just as bad if not worse than the issue that was fixed.
Really the cleanest solution would be to just separate them out into fc house wards and personal housing wards and let those two be maintained and balanced independent of each other.
I mean -technically- Yoshi didn't lie because the permit to buy the small house is 400k, amirite? :3

I agree with, I will never understand. We both started playing at the same time, start with zero gil, and yet I have 2.9 million on my retainers. And let me be frank, I dropped at least another 2 million on our FC small house. I don't RMT, farm day and night, have any crafting @ 3 stars, or even finish up my challenge log or daily task. So yea, I don't understand how you can't have enough to buy a house after a year of playing.Save your breath, these types will NEVER understand because they ALWAYS have money in some shape or form. Wether they farm their butts off for this much gil or buy it from RMTs is debatable but yeah, you can say"that's not cheep!" till your blue in the face while staring at your less than 500k balance most days and they'll turn and look at their 10+mil balance, tilt their head like a dog and go "I don't understand, why can't you afford it?" becuase in their heads they assume EVERYONE is rich and anyone who isn't, is just lazy and doesn't farm enough.
The only people I do feel bad for are the ones who couldn't purchase a house due to not enough plots.

I can't fault Yoshi's explanation or the logic of the implementation. I don't like it, but I understand it. I don't have the gil & I'm resigned to only being able to afford a place in the Ul'dah ghetto of Ward 800. /sigh
What's really messed up about this is: SE, you had 10 months to correct our thinking, TEN MONTHS.
You read the Forums, you've clearly seen us expression the thought they'd be far cheaper & also separate from the FC Estates.
The theme of this game I get time-and-time again is afterthought.
Summoner Job, sweet I'll get to summon mighty beings like past titles! Nope (booger critters).
Hunts System, neat open-world content! Nope (server-wide trollfest).
Hard-Modes Dungeons, awesome a challenge! Nope (steamroll 2.0).
Chocobo Raising, cool we'll have Chocobo Mini-Games! Nope (one-click feeding).
Desynthesis, it's meant to be fun & skillful! Nope (bland system).
Atma's, cool an extension to the Relic questline! Nope (dull grindfest).
I don't mean to come off harsh SE, I love you & love this game, it's just because I'm so passionate about ARR that I have tough-love for how I feel you guys treat us poorly quite often with your "no's" and last minute disappointments.
Communicating fairly & respectfully to us shouldn't be an after-thought.
Also, you guys should say yes more often (we would've rather had Chocobo during Queue far sooner than Materia Transmutation & the sort).

If this is a passive aggressive way to say everyone should be spiritbonding and selling the results, guess what happens to a market when everyone jumps on it... Guess what happens when the buyers start becoming the sellers...
Lastly, Personal Housing should be completely isolated from FC Estates...
It screws with the whole context/dynamic of FC villas.
Just give us the option of a particular layout off the beaten path in our own instanced area or something...
A cottage in the woods or a house on the cliffside or a peaceful beachhouse... you can do better.
Clumping personal houses in with every other ENTIRE FC is the cheap way out, kills the effect of Company Wards, & quite tacky.
Redo it.
While you're at it, it's time Atma was eased up on. Each Relic phase should be eased up every 2-3 cycles after.
I remember them being up front about the fact that FC housing was the same system that personal housing would eventually become. It just doesn't make sense that they would mix the two in the same wards, instead of having "FC wards" and "personal wards."
