What i was most disappointed with was hearing that it is set up just like the FC housing wards. Looks like I wont ever be getting a house now even IF i could save enough for it... Thanks!

If you pay attention to the patch notes you will realize that before 2.38 personal housing was analyzed today, they announced that they will double the amount of wards in 2.4. Yes, they haven't even looked at the results today to determine future houses. They already knew, they had to double at minimum by 2.4.

Also, not all the posts and complaints today are about availability, its also about pricing. Meaning, even if we somehow magically produced 2 million plots for people, most people still wouldn't be able to afford it.

On top of the fact that if we did have 2 million plots at once and everyone sunk their gil, the value of gil would skyrocket making newer players unable to buy anything SOMEWHAT expensive.

The availability is going to come faster than most believe. Just look at how fast they announced doubling wards. Now they will compile 2.38 release results and may possibly add more on top of the double.

My statement was about both availability and affordability. I'm not a hardcore player but I know how to save and be frugal, Eventually I could save enough for a plot of land, BUT will there even be any available by that time? I only have 75k, I try to log in every day, havent really done dailies, dont do spirit bonding parties, avoid hunts like the plague they are and I have many other real life commitments that prevent me from being able to spend more than an hour a day playing if I am lucky. Maybe, by the time I save up enough, the plots will have devalued to the maximum and enough people will have quit and opened up plots of land so I can actually get a house.



Yes, I saw they will be doubling housing wards. So 4 wards of personal housing and 12 wards of FC housing? Maybe I missed something in there. Either way, Housing went live today at 4am. By 8am, wards were sold out of small plots, I (like many others I would imagine) am at work and unable to buy anything, By this weekend, how many plots do you think will be left?

Then they add more wards in 2.4. Between now and then everyone starts going nuts trying to save for a house. More wards are added and I would not be surprised if they were all sold out once again by the weekend following implementation.

Granted, my questions are mostly looking at this pessimistically based on previous trends in housing and the image i had in my head regarding that housing was not anything like it turned out to be. I am honestly hoping to be wrong and pleasantly surprised. I had hoped they would have done personal housing in such a way that when you made a character you were guaranteed a plot of land once you met the requirements (gil, GC rank, Level) but now you also have to hope someone doesnt buy up your plot of land and leave nothing for you once you meet the requirements.
