Shocked at the reduction in mage damage, quadruple mp cost, and lowered resources

So, I tried and died quite a few times trying to solo Pyrausta as a Marauder (because it's my highest class)

I figured hey, I'll try to get to level 30, get Feint (since I had low DEX at the time), stock up on some potions and ethers, maybe then I'll have a chance.

I never managed to actually reach my level goal due to lack of interest with the game. I figured hey, maybe I'll get hooked again after the combat change and maybe then I'll succeed in my goal.

Patch hits, I read the patch notes.. yeah.

No chance, ever, of being able to kill that NM alone anymore. Might not even be able to duo it either, but what do I know? I'm just a lone wolf who has no friends because they all think FFXIV sucks, and their systems can't even run it regardless. Great day to try and keep playing a game I want to love, but never can.

I feel you man. Out of all of my gamer friends, only 1 had a PC capable of running this game. He bought it, then lol'd at it and he isn't coming back.

Thanks. I am so glad I am not the only one who thinks this non logic is garbage

sitting around watching mp refresh = challenge
casting cure non-stop and never being able to use another spell = challenge

How about some real challenges instead of cheap shots that just make mages suck to play?

I like how you make it sound like the MP problem is gonna be a permanent thing. As they've said before, this patch would be raw and alittle unbalanced. Balancing issues will be for later update. maybe 1.18b?

Also i'd like to add this comment right from patch notes.

Variations to auto attack motions, as well as the ability to cast spells while in passive mode will be implemented in a later patch.

Casting spells in passive mode means regening WHILE casting.

But yes ATM there needs a balance fix. Stop being pushy and acting like this games destroyed. Your argument sucks.

Then quit trying to solo That NM lol. Its obv higher lvl then you. Go level up.

It's one of the easiest lower level NMs I've fought. Had a few dogable skills (which is obviously a pain in the ass due to playing from eastern America, distance latency makes me always get hit unless I move within 2 seconds of it readying the skill, which didn't happen 80% of the time due to being locked in place when using my own skills. Wouldn't have been a problem if I lived in Japan!).

I got it to around 30% before I died after running out of MP. And yes, this is with second wind and bloodbath.


But hey, I just tested fighting a Ixali Fencer (level 41 I think) as my Marauder (level 29). I managed to kill it with only 2 cures and 1 sacrifice being needed.. although I almost died (36 hp) because my attack delay is FOUR POINT TWO SECONDS and I missed 4 times in a row. Great job, auto attack.. Maybe the massive nerf to heals won't turn out so bad..

you're terrible then. Get more ACC and more dex. Also, get a weapon that is your rank. Use correct gear. As far as not being able to solo...good. You shouldn't be able to solo NMs. They are NMs for a reason.
