While i don't think Yoshi was expecting to go in this particular direction when he said that, I really doubt that they expect individuals to buy large houses. I'm sure some can, and good for them, but a small house should suffice for a single person, surely.

That's not the American way though. We all must have the biggest house and the fastest chocobo! :P
