Actually based on my understanding that the Third Binding Coil of Bahamut is actually more than likely just a Fan Nickname for what Yoshida described as the Brutal Binding Coil of Bahamut, then no, the Third Binding Coil of Bahamut will not have a weapon that will be better than the Nexus Weapons because Yoshida has already been on the record as saying that the Brutal Binding Coil of Bahamut will not have Gear Rewards. Rather the reward for completing the Brutal Binding Coil of Bahamut will simply be a Title commemorating your achievement. (please note that I said this is MY understanding. Which means I could be completely wrong about the immediately preceding statement).

That said, the patch notes specifically indicate that depending on your Melds in the Novus phase, that yes in fact, the Nexus Weapon will be superior to the High Allagan Weapon due to the way in which the Nexus Weapon was designed by the development team. Regardless, now that the Relic Weapons have caught up to the Coil Weapons, that means that even if future installments of the Binding Coil do feature new gear at higher than 115 item levels, then the Relic Quest should likewise also be able to match those item levels relatively easily now. So there really shouldn't be any games of catch up between the Binding Coil Gear and the Relic Gear any longer. If anything it is now the Binding Coil Gear that has to catch up with the Relic Gear.

Also, please note that in my initial response to you, I specifically pointed out that I had said that the Novus Weapon is COMPARABLE to the High Allagan Weapon, not Equal to it.

The Definition of Comparable: Able to be likened to another; similar.
The Definition of Equal: being the same in quantity, size, degree, or value.

By the definition of Equal, only two Item Level 115 items would be equal to one another. However an item level 110 and an item level 115 weapon can both be compared to one another with little to no problem. In fact real world Weapon Specialists and Historians do the same thing all the time, comparing one type of weapon to another type of weapon, say a sword to an axe for example. It isn't that difficult.
