They should just change "Emerald Carby" to a more green color and keep the current Blue Carby(the name should just be Carbuncle) as a support pet, not healing, that both SMN and SCH can use.
I would love to have the Carbuncles back. I miss them.
I agree. The egis just don't do it for me--so boring and bland. They honestly kinda ruined the summoner class for me. I'll take carby over them any day, thank-you-very-much.
I would love to summon carbuncle as a SMN, but I don't think its gonna happen. To remedy my need I switch back to an ACN (since i90+gear can be equipped by ACN) and do some low lv roulette or ST
The only problem is he is SO hard to keep track of in 8+ men raid.
I'd prefer it if they make him as a minion
I just want carbuncle back instead of ifrit, because well Ifrit is useless for the most part, lol
Technically, Carbuncle has Contagion but it's called Shining Emerald. It has the exact same effect as Contagion. Arcanist also have Rouse. The rest you were correct. And to answer your question, he didn't do great DPS. Losing 10 of your primary stats, your biggest damaging nuke, a 40% damage boost to your pet + Enkindle will make your DPS horrendous.

Considering from a design standpoint Carbuncle = Egi, they share the same abilities and stats for the most part, heck even greater at 50 actually, the problem though egis are more "specialized" when they replace Carby. So when geared, you can still do good DPS, since your Pet doesn't do great damage as is as the majority of your DPS comes from your DoTs and Fester anyway.
So basically, any egis we get, there's a Carbuncle used as the baseline, so its possible for SMN to get Carbuncles, but very unlikely since Carbuncle is an actual summon/familiar and not a egi.
