Yeah fish leves needed a nerf, but not THAT much, golly! I remember how pissed I was when I got 200 sp from a fish leve (All three levequest fish got a "You lost what felt like a..." message). It's a waste of aspect and I quit.

Actually, in the fishing leves where you have to catch 3 special named fish, missing the catch doesnt count against you. you are pretty much guaranteed 3 successful high SP catches on those.
The other ones, just fishing at the schools of fish, should have the number of attempts increased. Only getting 6 attempts per one of those leves is crap. even if the SP is higher per success than the other gather classes leves of the same type, a fail is catastrophic compared to.

the sad part is you are right.

i was not saying HiirNoivl should have been punished, but just pointing out why they did since someone did ask the question.

people were getting groups of 4 to run the multiple fishing spots leve in each city and would link them together. once the school disappeared they would continue fishing in that spot for the entire 30 minutes. you could easily get upwards of 600 a catch. was comparable to the way leve linking was first used to start a leve and not kill the mobs in the leve, but still got a bonus sp boost on any mob.

now once you catch the allotted fish in the area you are required to move to the next area so the leves take literally 5 min at most to complete. if you try fishing there again you can catch fish during the leve, but get no linking bonus. sorry just wanted to show what people are talking about when they say fishing leve nerf. they fixed the issue and some couldn't move past it.

i liked the fact you could leve link your fishing leves, but did not like the fact you could get sp on mobs that had nothing to do with the leve anymore. those leves did go from way too much to way too little though and i will agree with lex on that, but that was the price people payed for exploiting a system. when you exploit something usually they nerf it too hard the other way and it becomes a punishment.

Oh, I never linked my leve - I just fished for 30 mins with GA. When my 30 mins of fun turned into 3 minutes of crappy exp, it was just about the last straw for me with this game.

its like saying that the NM faction leve trick was a "gimp" too

You'd think if I were using bugs I'd be at a higher rank. =/ I must be a sucky bug user. I told you I was a solo player and I had no idea leve linking was possible before the leves were gimped. Besides, I don't even wanna hear this out someone who probably never even did a fish leve since the game release.

As for NM gimp, I don't know about that either. But I can tell you one thing, they didn't punish Battle classes for people exploiting it did they? No.
