Have you ever talked to a person with no gaming experience about FFXIV?

Co-Worker: Hey play any new games lately?
Me: Na just JRPG's.
Co-Worker: Ew, you need to play some duty man, join the rest of us. That RPG s**ts boring stuff. *walks off*

Other then that it's mostly just people nodding their heads with an empty look in their eyes as they repeat "I see" over and over till I finally shut up.

Co-worker: Really, where at?

Co-worker: Where's that at, is that a club? I've never heard of it before?
Me: It's in the Black Shroud Forest, just off the main road a ways. Everyone goes there to party.
Co-worker: Hrm, I'll have to check it out.

...and she was totally clueless. I eventually told her that it was a game dungeon. She laughed because I just presented it like it was nothing.

In class and some of my students ask if I like to play games. I tell them yes and they ask which ones, I mention a few including FFXIV.

Find out at a least 3-4 of my students play...

...refuse to tell them where I am or what my name is despite begging and pleading... XD

(because 1) awkward... and 2) school rules, can't interact with students outside of school grounds unless its a school function and this game is not a school function lol)

Nephew is 5 years old, I main as a lallafel Warrior.

"Who are you fighting?"
"Titan, he is pretty tough" (exetreme).
"But, Uncle, you are really small, and he is really big!"
"I'll chop off his toes! No one can fight without toes!"

I attend a University and found out one of my CompSci Professors play FFXIV. We had a small chit-chat about it and found out he is stuck at T5.

Told him I'd clear it for him as extra credit, but he said it wouldn't be fair...noob! LOL :P
