False. Each tree has a number of passive stat increases that make the choco stronger at all times. Not just when changing stances for flexibility. They do actually gain more HP, Acc, Crit rate, etc for each tree completed.

Exactly. Getting to level 6 in all 3 trees gives the chocobo a base rating of 45% critical hit rate.

getting 1 rank takes 1 week with stable training and challenge log, more then enough time to farm 1-2 mil for a new onion

Yeah, I guess it IS something else to do while waiting on coil lockouts. I'd be happier if the onions were not gated behind FC gardening and/or if the output per seed was even slightly higher. Even in a tiny FC with a single plot it takes a lot of time to get 8 onions, and we have a decent amount of people with rank 10 birds.

Maybe they will add achievement perks for hitting rank 20 and re-introduce the chocobo mask as reward...I can definitely see getting rank 20 being a perk for chocobo racing eventually.

Actually - even without the weekly Challenge bonus which equals to 15% (5 + 10) of total XP needed per each level you can do one full level in 50 hours - e.g. 2 days and 2 hours you you'd feed it exactly every hour twice - this is pre lvl 10 where with Cleansparkly stables each training gives 1% of XP needed so 100 Krakka roots will take it to level up. From level 10 it's only 0.9% so 111 Krakka Roots + tiny bit to complete once you take the choco out. I've managed last weekend to level 2 chocos fully one level before the clean status expired.

Edit: Well, Chocobo leveling is something special, you can not do it while doing other stuff, you are locked out if you level your chocobo!

You can do it while doing beastmen dailies, FATEs (and Atma farming), treasure hunt and non-instanced spirit bounding.

If thats the content you like, fine for me, but at least you should not guard it with knowing its not the total content we have ingame.
Maybe if the restrictions are fixed ... you can enjoy it, but not as it is now because joining a group is a pain when having chocobo out.
