I would try feeding doman plums. Might go grape purple or wine red, I think. If wine red, then feed mamook pears.

I decided to go the Doman Plum (– + +) route just to feel like I was doing something productive, but I've a feeling it's going to make things worse before they get better. The one person I could find who used plums at Russet Brown (72 39 26) went to Charcoal Gray (65 64 59), but here's hoping for Grape Purple (52 36 54). I'm not very confident, though. If the RGB values are correct, the increase in green is likely to bite me in the ass and indeed give me charcoal. Wine Red (62 17 14) doesn't seem as likely (though, I'd take it). What a kick in the rolanberries, though...
If anybody has a better idea lemme know and I'll pull him out of the stables before the timer's up, lol.

This is my first post. When I started, I didn't know about the color charts, so I just guesses at what to give. I want Soot Black, but since I have to darken it in steps I decided I would like to make it purple first. At the time, I didn't know that you had to do that anyway.
I started by giving equal amounts of O'Ghomoro Berries and Xelphatol Apples. I fed first 1 berry then one apple, continuing in that way until I had fed 6 of each. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of how many fruit I had given before I got the "growing new feathers" message, but I think it was after the 3rd apple, so that would have been after 3 berries & 3 apples. When My chocobo changed color, it was coral pink.

I then fed O'Ghomoro Berries until I got growing feathers message which took a lot that time, I think about 14.
At the next color change my chocobo was Plum Purple.

For the third step I found this chart:
https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/16...661/Tdbywa.png
I decided to try giving all of the fruits up to black to see what would happen, and I fed my chocobo O'Ghomoro Berries until I got the growing feathers message, which I think was about 5 berries (sorry, I should have kept track). I then fed 2 more O'Ghomoro Berries, 1 Xelphatol Apple, 2 O'Ghomoro Berries, and 1 Doman Plum. At the next color change my chocobo was Regal Purple, so it had only gone 1 step.

Still following the same chart, I fed my chocobo Doman Plums. I gave it 3, and apparently I didn't wait long enough to see if I got growing feathers, because I gave it a 4th one and got the message right after feeding the 4th, so I accidentally gave it a second one after getting the growing feathers message.
When it changed, it had gone back to Plum Purple.
I can't find anything really wrong with Plums per say. It increases blue and lowers red which you need, but it also increases green which you don't need. Depending on where you land, I think you may have to do a round of berries after.
Starting: Russet Brown
Fed (new feathers messages): 1x Berries
Result: Charcoal Grey
Starting Color - Salmon Pink
Target Color - Snow White
So far I've gone from Desert Yellow > Cream Yellow > Salmon Pink.
Using the chococ color simulator, I've concluded to try the following steps:
Color xN (RGB)
- apple x2 (241, 165, 133)
- pineapple x10 (255, 215, 83)
- plum x12 (195, 255, 143)
- valfruit x10 (245, 205, 193)
- plum x1 (240, 210, 198)
Will post my results.
EDIT:
Going to play it safe and go through 2 phases. This feeding SHOULD land me on Bone White:
- apple x2 (241, 165, 133)
- pineapple x10 (255, 215, 83)
- plum x12 (195, 255, 143)
Then I'll just need to give it the following in the 2nd feeding to go from Bone White --> Snow White
Valfruit x1
Plum x4
