Chocobo Dye - The Missing Manual

Amazingly, while many in this thread were aming for Dalamud (or some otgher dark shade of) Red and end up with darker Green shades I'm in the exactly opposite camp. I was feeding two of my chocobos - one to reach Snow White (which it did exactly on the spot) and the other one to reach Hunter Green but instead I've reached (and now looping in) dark shades of reds including Dalamud one ... *SIGH!*

This is posted on page 94 of the Chocobo Dyeing R&D Thread. The page count is up to 163...

Just FYI - refering to "pages" in threads is very very confusing as each of us (can) have different forum settings so it's adviced to use ther specific post numbers / counts instead ... For example with my settings that thread currently have "only" 59 pages and indeed the post you're refereing to is on completely different page so I'd never find it there. The best is either to quote (at least a tiny bit of) the refered post or link to it using the url generated from the post number on the top right site of the post - this post link as example ... Surely I'd confuse you saying that my post is on (my) page 2 of this thread.

And indeed - thanks for (re-)compiling the currently available info in new more compact form!

So I just started the color change thing yesterday. My ultimate goal is soot black, so I know i'm going to be working at it for a bit, but this is my progress report.

First feeding of 3 xephatol apples got me to millioncorn yellow
Second feeding of 2 xephatol apples (lol the only ones I had left ^.^ and 4 o'ghomoro berries got me to cork brown.

Third feeding consisted of 3 more o'ghomoro berries, now we wait ^.^

You want Wine Red: 71 23 23

Feed 6x pear: 97 61 1
Feed 6x berry: 67 31 31
Feed 1x apple: 72 26 26

Difference to Wine Red: -1 -3 -3

It got me to Aldgoat Brown. . . a most undesirable turn of events ^.^;
So I fed my chocobo a valfruit and it immediately decided to grow new feathers.

Fed 7 apples with about 4 feather procs got me to Millioncorn Yellow.

2nd feeding, more apples.. 10. I think I got about 6~8 new feather procs. And 6 hours later, I get Pumpkin Orange.

3rd feeding, 10 Valfruits.. and after around 6 feather procs, I got Sunrise Orange.

4th feeding, this morning, 10 O'Ghomoro berries. Currently waiting to see what it will turn into.

Hoping it won't be brown or orange. Fingers crossed.
