Mapping out Chocobo Dye

Hi, I'm currently at Pumpkin Orange, will probably be at Sunset Orange in 6 hours (I just feed some apples to my Chocobo). From there, what would you guys suggest to get closer to Chocolate Brown?

(PS : I already tried Mamook Pears from Sunset Orange, but I went back to Pumpkin Orange instead)

I'm curious why you didn't try to go down the O'Ghomorro Berries line towards Aldgoat or any of the other browns in there and then try to find your way from a brown starting colour?
Something to consider if Attackat's advice doesn't work, although I think it will.

If you feel like mapping out for me where to go from Loam Brown I'm all for it because that's where I'm stuck at now.

I would like some more info. Did you stop to check the colour after every feather proc? When you were stuck in your loop, did you try all 6 fruits for one specific colour? Most people seem to get so hung up on trying those two or three fruits that they think will work. So yeah, you won't get out of it then.
Which list/sheet/chart did you use? Were there any anomalies that you encountered that didn't match anything in my own spreadsheet? Needs more data... FOR SCIENCE!

Mostly because Chocolate Brown seemed to have much more red in it than some other already known browns that are much closer to grey or even green IMO. I figured it would be easier to get to something like Sunset Orange or the color after and then try something new from there. Also, for science.

Anyway, this morning my Chocobo went from Pumpkin Orange to Sunset Orange after feeding a few apples, exactly as expected. I did feed it the Doman Plums, as suggested. Will report the result after work.
