When CT first came out no lies it had taken me around 80 runs just to get the Crimson hat, chest was around half those runs.
Ifrit's bow, same thing close to 80 or more runs (i ended up getting months after my Relic)
Atma had taken me approx 4 months to get all of them, while people who have started a month or so after me had gotten 2 atma weapons by then. And yes i have done way more fates, i got that 3,000 fate achievement a while back, lol
Drops in dungeons rarely do i win rolls which brings me to ST, more often then not i must go in there with people from fc that have all had their loot already or they all pass, because yeah i don't ever win. So yeah, hooray for me

Goodness I have a few of those unlucky stories.

Moogle Ex, Healing Ribbon drops finally. I roll a 2. Scholar who spent most of his time "Cleric Stance" healing or dead.. won it.
Did 49 Runs of Baby Brayflox for the Infantry Skirt.. to only have a 2nd skirt from the retainer 2 days later.

Still have not managed to win the tank boots from Stone Vigil HM to finish the set. Must be at about 50+ runs of that stupid place now.
Went slightly over 20 runs before I saw the crystal tower healer crown drop.

I'm nearing 100 maps done and only ever seen 1 'leather' bonus map so far.

yeah and queuetime is like 2 hours each game, and after jumping around for an hour I get a little impatient and search for a dungeon instead

I spent nearly a week farming for the Ifrit Scholar weapon, I did about 10 runs a day, and this was before I started working on my Relic quest. I saw it drop once, then another Scholar, who mostly just stood there and died a few times, rolled a 99 on it. After I started on my Relic quest, the book drops and I got it, for vanity purposes. I should also note that I greeded on every other weapon that dropped and either someone needed or I rolled like a 10 or lower.
My luck only seems to exist if I'm the only one who can roll need or no one else rolls on it, that's if it drops.

Oh it must be the data center you're on. I only wait 20-30 minutes usually at the most.
