I think he was referring to the concept of changing it from 8 a day to a more open ended the number of leves you can get will build over time system.Am i misunderstand this or is he implying that Guildleve changes are pushed back to 1.19?
Other then that very interesting letter, can't wait for the next one to learn about future content and changes. I do hope Anima is nerfed in some way when mounts/airships get added though. i know a lot of ppl who current use port mules to teleport around without wasting their own Anima. Unless teleporting is limited somehow, i don't see ppl choosing mounts/ships over teleport since porting is still the fastest way to travel.

It sounds like maybe they're holding back a little on the alteration of guildleves until 1.19? Sounds like a good decision to me if that's the case.
Sounds like we haven't had the full patch listing yet...
I'd have to guess it was the translator that added the extra flare to the letter. It would be pretty awesome if it was translated as literally as possible (while still making sense), though.
Ponies and rainbows!
Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.
A common expression around here used to be "Well I got along just fine in FFXI without [said feature], so there's no reason to implement it."EVERYONE here wants stuff. They just don't want YOUR stuff getting into the game, each for their own reasons I suppose. Just because nobody liked your ideas doesn't mean they don't want things added to this game. I know for a fact MOST people DON'T want to be grinding through it all because that's boring. However, right now grinding is the most effective way to go about it when not doing a Behest. Raptors anyone?
Also, "Derp" is a very popular term in the recent months/this last year. I'm sure Japan has it's own online memes, so Yoshi used one in a humorous tone and the translators picked Derp as the translation because it IS popular. I know I laughed when I saw it. I didn't look down on Yoshi-P. Sheesh. Honestly, I think the only reason you decided to pick that out of the letter to complain about is because you couldn't find anything else to complain about in the letter. BUT you had to complain about SOMETHIN', so you probably figured you'd might as well make fun of the translators.
It is this kind of mentality which inspired such sentiments within me. From my perspective, it seems like a lot of people would be happy with less rather than more. And their reasoning: "just because". (that's their only reason or something).
As for the lack of professionalism on Yoshi's part, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and casting the blame on the translators. But perhaps the fault lies squarely with Yoshi? Derp is such an infantile turn of phrase, hardly befitting to one so powerful and esteemed as Yoshi.
FFXIV is a very artistic enterprise... and to have it sullied with such asinine verbiage - well, you can scarcely blame me for thinking it inappropriate.

Yes because game development is such a proper and noble profession. One must keep only the highest of moral and maturity standards while developing video games. We can't have anything less than the most professional of developers on all video games.
And then we have games like Shadow of the Damned which tend to be one giant boner joke while still being a great game. Games like the Saint's Row series don't take themselves that seriously and are pretty awesome. Some of the most fun games out there have been pretty silly, hardly mature and pretty damn funny.
Why do you speak in second-person like Gollum from Lord of the Rings?Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't realize that if we don't want the exact thing you want, we don't want anything. You post demands for useless shit when there are more important things the game needs, you complain about little shit all day long, and then you get pissy when people attack you and your posts. Protip: It's not us that has the problem.
Either you have a severe case of split-personality disorder or you're just vouching for a collective you cannot truly claim to speak for.
In any case, I explained myself, like, in the post right before your tirade about me, just in case you're curious as to what I meant or why I had such an impression.
It's only fair for me to make such an assumption , after all. If all you hear day after day is something along the lines of "please do not add stuff to FFXIV because it's not needed" then you can hopefully appreciate where I am coming from.

While I can appreciate Yoshi's candour, I am not particularly enamoured with his display of coarseness.Yes because game development is such a proper and noble profession. The demographic for Final Fantasy games is much more intellectual than your average gaming community. That is why we do not have jump or swim. Because such things are beneath us. We also do not need voice-overs, because you see, reading is a higher art form. These low-brow games of which you speak, I never much fancied them to tell you the honest truth, and I dare say I never will. Personally, I shudder to think what will happen to the moral institution that is Final Fantasy if it becomes so corrupted to follow in pursuit of those games for a "quick buck".
This use of the word 'derp' is a definite departure from the norm, and I would caution we not tread too far down this path.
It's just not very "Final Fantasy".

I thought it was a female Roe when you clicked. I was like "shut up shut up shut up... Oh..."
Anyways, letter sounded good. Can't wait to try on the bathing suits. Hopefully lots of different colors!
Love the derping part. I'm really excited to be returning to Eorzea soon!
